Eating out at Outback ???

  • This will be my first time eating out on IP. Now before IP I would order the 6oz Outback special steak on the wood fire, a salad with no croutons or cheese with dressing on the side, and steamed veggies on the side. And of course, no bread.

So, I am thinking that I would pick out carrots and tomatoes from the salad, bring my own dressing, and request no carrots with the broccoli and yellow squash.

Does anyone know of anything that I missed? I think that I will have to be clear about nothing on the steamed veggies. I just don't know if they put anything on them.
  • Maybe ask them if they put butter on the steak when they grill it. Otherwise, sounds good!
  • Yeah - request that they either dry-grill or oil-grill the steak. There may be some gluten in the steak marinade but it won't be enough to throw you off. And make sure that the veggies are plain steamed with NO BUTTER.
  • when you order the veggies ask for just broccoli - it is a choice on the menu
  • I love eating there! I get the 9 Oz steak with broccoli and asparagus. Ask for no butter on the broccoli. The asparagus has olive oil. And I do the salad with no croutons, carrots, cheese, and use olive oil and vinegar. Top it off with a water and lemon!
  • Ate at Outback night before my first WI did fine. Had a special that was grilled Mahi , shrimp and scallops. Salad without croutons, picked out the carrots there was not very many and dressing on the side. Broccoli steamed, lots of water. If anything needed more protein. It will be a go to place if too tired to cook, haven't shopped yet or out with friends.

I believe you did forget something..... the shrimp on a barbie! Just ask that it too be cooked with no butter. If you get the low fat rasberry vinegrette dressing on the side, the shrimp are awesome dipped in it. :-)
