Good morning!!
We're up dark and early here in NC. It must be a reserve weekend at Ft Bragg because we woke up to our house getting bombed- at least thats what it sounded like with someone using a firing range/impact area which is hardly ever used right by our house.
Question about getting sick- are OTCs out on IP, are we pretty much resorted to netti pots, hot tea and gargling salt water?
First week of phase 2 has been going good. I've been trying to plan ahead as much as possible.
I wish I was looking forward to phase 3, but adding those morning carbs scare me.
I'm really understanding how important it is to keep a food journal. This way I can see if certain foods bring on cravings more then others.
It also keeps me accountable.
I can be a bit delusional when it comes to food..a bite of this, a spoon of that...before you know it "VIOLA" i'm slidding down that slippery slope & then, I'm wondering "how did this happen?"
I must keep myself aware and most importantly, conscious, cause i'm just 2 cheezies away from being a carb-zombie. That's how it happens with me. I'm not scared of having a pig out...it's the nibbles that are dangerous.
I can already tell that maintenance is going to take continuous effort. Exercise, food journaling & this forum will help me remain strong and focused to keep this weight off.
Plus, i'm a grown woman...not a spoiled child who "has" to have that extra cookie, that whole bag of chips or "can't help" going to the drivethru late at night like an addict - sitting in my dark car...scarfing stuff in...then hiding the bag under my seat.
When I started IP I thought it was ridiculous not to exercise. This has actually been a HUGE gift to me. I am now forced to look at the emotional side of my food addiction. In the past whenever i'd feel something while I was losing weight i'd always "jump on the treadmill" to work through my feelings. I now know that I wasn't working through anything...I was pushing my feelings down by vigorous exercise.
Now I feel like I have developed some tools to empower me.
Your posts give me strength EVERY day....here's to being healthy!!!!
I thought this was cute...gotta share....
An older lady came in to my work place and mentioned my weight loss - as we were discussing it, I told her that I was now going to stop losing and work on maintaining - she told me what a great idea that was....to maintain before I lose the NEXT 20 POUNDS!!! I know i'm not skinny-mini...but I really thought I was done. I could tell her intentions were not mean...I had to chuckle to myself.
Riss! Your new avatar show a super hot chick! Whooo Hoooooo! Awesomeness.
I am Down a total of 144 now. It's been quite a while since I've seen a loss. I'm working the program right again instead of just maintaining. I want to get below 300#'s by Halloween. I started IP around Easter and I've kicked the candy. Halloween will be awesome under three bills. It will be close but its time to re focus.

I'm not sure about this, but I would think it would be ok if it didnt have sugar in it.

WOW! Some people are so rude.
It's good that you were amused by it and didnt let it get to you. I'm not sure how I would react.
Good morning everybody. I am awake, it's frigid here in South Dakota, and by frigid I mean still above freezing, so that just gives you an idea of what I'll be saying come December when it is ACTUALLY below freezing.
I've had my morning shake, there's a pat on my back for that one. I've found the big ol' recipe book I had started back in July on my work computer, so another point for that one. I'm irritated that I'm b-roke and the only proteiny thing I have to eat/drink right now is my AMP-60 which is fine, but I'd really rather have some packets of hazelnut chocolate pudding and some chicken vegetable cream soup, it's cold outside so soup sounds amazing right now, even for breakfast!
I'm DEFINITELY going to be buying the hot chocolate on my next payday, which I hope *fingers crossed* is today. Our payroll person normally always pays us BEFORE the 1st or the 15th, or ON the 1st or the 15th and she's only in on Tues/Thurs (wow, this is sounding like a math problem!). Anyways, next Monday is the 15th so I was all "Yaya we are getting' paid tomorrow woot woot!" And then we ran into her during lunch and she was like "Oh I thought I'd just come in Tuesday next week, it's still close to the 15th". D-EEEEvastated I tell you! I'm like, I have no food in my house except one can of beans, one can of spaghettio's and a few things of ice cream...awe crap!
I'm looking forward to seeing the scale cooperate with me again, I know I'm not even remotely close to being in ketosis (only doing one shake / day and just trying to eat healthy the other two meals) but sincerely hoping when I get there that the 6.5 lbs i've gained fall off as glycogen stores...really really hoping, so I can be back to 161 and trying to get into the 150's by November.

Look for OTC products that are labeled as sugar free, or made for diabetics. If you can't find them ask the pharmacist, there are definitely sugar free options - my diabetic husband would be an even bigger baby when he's sick otherwise
Today is my WI week 4. I lost 2.8 lb. and so happy. My clothes are fitting better and I feel skinny though I'm not. Can't believe I have been 100% for 4 weeks. That has never happened before IP.
Has anyone experienced hip pain on IP? In the last week, several mornings when I would get out of bed my hips would be really sore. I thought it was from sleeping to long on one side. Yesterday, I took a potassium tablet in the morning with breakfast and one at dinner and this morning I have no hip pain. Do you think my body needed more potassium or just a coincidence?

Hi Vet,
I'm also back to lose after being away for 5 weeks. I gained a little over 5 pounds, and need to lose that plus a few more. Learned that carbs really don't taste that good, except for a few things.

You have such great discipline, you'll get there! That weight will come off, no doubt about it. Sorry about the wait till Tuesday though. Are you using alternatives?

Could be that you need more. I noticed I get crazy leg cramps in the middle of the night when I forget my pottassium tablet that day.
Also when i don't get my oil in for the day, i feel kind of achy in my back and hips.

Just in the past two days my right hip has been extremely sore. And this hasn't happened to me in the 15 weeks I've been on IP. And I ALWAYS take my potassium.

Well I am so glad you took it lightly...that is just rude. Guess it goes to show that everyone has a different perception of what our "number" should be or how thin or thick we should be. Like I said...Kudos to You for not reaching across the desk and slapping her silly.
Well today will be a busy day for me, taking my mom to go pick up her Jeep...a wheel bearing went out on it last week when we were attempting to get my dad to his physical therapy appointment. Then we will take him to his appointment for pt. Then this afternoon I am meeting up with my friend who is s seamstress and she is going to look at my formal clothes for the cruise. I bought them all back at the beginning of August before we decided to do IP, so since then I have lost nearly 20 inches and some of the dresses just don't fit right now. I am so excited to put them on and see how much has to be taken in so they will look good.
We are on the downhill slide to the weekend...hope everyone has a fabulous 100% OP Thursday!
