Fallen off the wagon Need Help Getting Back

  • I started the IP program in February started out seeing a diet coach but ended up doing it on my own due to the cost. I lost 40 lbs but now am gaining. Have now gained 7 lbs since my lowest weight. I am having a hard time getting back into it and hope to find support here. I am going to start back to square one I think and try to lose the last 10 lbs I need to lose but need advise as to how to keep it off and not slip.

You know it works, just go back to the basics, you may also want to visit the Maintainer's thread, they discuss different ways of keeping it off

    thank you!
  • Hi Shamrock1973! Right now you should prepare yourself for a reboot. Head back to P1 to get down to your ideal weight. Next phase off as appropriately (2 weeks P2 and 2 weeks P3). Finally follow P4 accordingly!

Maintenance is hard work and you have to make it a habit. I've been in P4 since April, did a minor reboot and am finally feeling pretty confident about it. I'm still learning how to do P4 successfully. You too can do it!!!

So, basically do a reboot and follow the plan!!! It really does work!!!

Let us know how it goes. Check out the Reboot thread. It's a great place for those who need to get back on track and lose a few added on pounds!
  • I am having the same problem. I was doing SO well then all of the sudden I have lost all willpower. I only have about 10lbs to go but I just cant seem to get myself back on the wagon. I know I just have to suck it up and do it. I will be so much happier if I just do it and get it over with. I dont really get any support from my coach...she is much younger then me and all she does is weigh and measure me...get me my food and thats it. She does not even ask if I have any challenges coming up or do I have any questions etc...It would be so much easier with a coach that actually did her job!

Its up to YOU to do it, Your coach can't do it for you. Yes, sounds like she could be doing a better job at coaching but nothing she can say will make you get back on the wagon if you aren't ready to do it. Its YOUR journey, think about why you are on it, what is keeping you from getting back on program. The last 10lbs are always the hardest and once you go off its always harder to get back on. You have lots of people here that will help you and encourage you BUT its ultimately up to YOU, we can say everything you want to hear but until you are ready, it won't happen...sorry for the tough love but its the truth

I know, I know...I just have to do it for myself. Thanks for the words of wisdom :-)
  • It is definitely time for a reboot! Maintenance is HARD work! Trying to find that balance of how much you can eat and not gain and if having 1, 2 or 3 P1 days will get you back on track. Believe me when I say that the hard work doesn't even begin until you are phased off. P1 is easy in comparison. It is all laid out for you. Eat these (3) packets, 4 cups of veggies, 2 T of olive oil and don't stray. Yes, it is challenging to follow the protocol 100%, but it is not hard.

Time to buck up, get back on track, get to your goal weight. Come visit in the maintainers thread or the reboot thread. There are plenty of us trying to get our bearings and figure out this thing called maintenance and trying to make sure we keep this weight off.
