Question on Cabbage
Just wondering if the regular head of green cabbage is it allowed? My coach said it was ok but I am a little worried. I did some research and have found out that one serving has 5 carbs. Just wondering what anyone else's coach has said. Already cheated (by accident) and am trying to keep it from happening again.
Thanks Kim |
There was a discussion going on another thread about carbs in veggies ... the consensus was, if it's on the sheet, eat it. Don't worry about the carbs. If the IP Gods were worried about the carbs in cabbage, it would be in the select category or not prohibited. I had green cabbage last week. :D

Thanks for the reply. I was really wanting to make coleslaw with WF dressings.

My coach and my sheet says red cabbage and book chop are OK, green cabbage not. And she doesn't know about any other cabbages...

There was a good discussion on this: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/idea...phase-1-a.html
I'm a vegetarian, and since my proteins already have carbs in them, I really have to watch my carb-veggie intake, so when I use cabbage, I'm using green. My weight loss has been consistent so far, so I'm not having any issues using green. |
I used green cabbage several times to make coleslaw in Phase 1 and never had problems. Just keep a variety on the Select list and you should be fine. One time when we were on vacation at the beach I ate an ENTIRE head of cabbage throughout the day (it was a 'lazy beach house day' and kept me from eating the house!). 1 head cabbage, Stevia, Apple Cider Vinegar, Yellow Mustard ... I love that zing!
If it's on the sheet, you shouldn't really worry about it until you hit a real stall (10 days+), then review your food journal and see where the tweaks could be made. |
I use green cabbage all the time, love it!

I use it all the time as well.....I have never had any problem with it
