Looking for alternative UNrestricted bars and snacks
Besides, the shakes, puddings and drinks and soups (and the recipes made with them), what are some other unrestricted products to look for? I think there are some bars and snacks out there, and I hope to get a list together before placing a new order.

All th ip bars and snacks are restricted.
Protidiet makes a oatmeal that's not. It's yummy! |
sugarfree jello is a great snack, anything "over the counter" that is all "zero's" works.

I'm looking for items that count toward the "unrestricted" requirements of the plan. |

ProtiDiet Cereal - Honey Nut Soy from nashua nutrition
kinda like honey nut cheerios... the chocolate ones however ARE RESTRICTED....but i ordered 1 box not realizing, so i mixed 1 bag with 2 bags of regular for a chocolate and honey nut unrestricted mix!! i nibble on these when watching tv, or playing board games or any time i am around others snacking on the foods i don't eat!! they are tiny and easy to eat slowly!! nice and portable too!! |
Check the thread from a few days ago with the go-to's- I listed a few unrestricted things that I like. I need to take a closer look at the bars, I think there are a few brands that might be unrestricted but I haven't had time to do the math! Healthwise are not, that much I know. That's why they are so delicious!!

For example there is a cereal called Smaps that I really like, both as cereal with RTD or a bit of unsweetened almond milk on it - or also just as a dry snack. Occasionally I'll make a mixture (paying attention to nutritional content of both per serving so that it is an appropriate combined serving size) of Smaps & Soy Beanits for a snack and that's a nice change. There are also very tasty muffins mixes in several different flavors that imo are unrestricted. Also pancake/waffle mixes .. I had a chocolate waffle today for lunch that was fantastic, and I would consider it unrestricted. The ProtiDiet plain and blueberry pancake mixes are unrestricted. Ditto their oatmeal - which means you can enjoy rhubarb crumble and not consider it a restricted. There's also a product called Apple Berry Granola that I consider unrestricted. I add a little extra protein powder to it to get the 15-18g/serving, but that's easy to do. I add a little unsweetened almond milk to it. I avoid the sugar-free Jello packets, and instead use Knox gelatine with some MIO for flavor. I started a blog just recently and posted it in my signature line. I have entries there now about most of the above with the exception of the soy beanits and granola. Feel free to check it out. It's amazing what products are out there that are good alternative options, when you do a little sleuthing and get creative. :) |

I found there a bar I had heard about: the Simply bar, the lemon coconut you talk about is unrestricted. Hopefully the other varieties are as well. I'll definitely check that out! |
I use the simply bars. I believe the old version of chocolate peanut butter was restricted, but some would not be. I like them all.

I agree with Rainbow. i keep the cereal in my work bag just in case i get the munchies

I'm still browsing the alternative stuff, but I saw proti-diet and Health Wise (a brand they have at my local nutrition store) both carry a honey-nut cheerios knockoff that count as unrestricted. I'm trying the Health Wise brand next time I stock up! |

P.S. - I'm copying a link below that goes to one of my blog pages connecting to a The Simply Bar product page. It shows several different varieties of the bar - just click on each nutrition info link for complete info on each of them - I just took a quick look and so far imo all of the ones I clicked on could be considered unrestricteds. http://www.wellnessfoods.ca/thesimplybar-products.html |
I like to eat the crispy cereal and add WF chocolate syrup to it and it is like cocoa crispies. I have also heard of the Simply Bar but have not investigated it thoroughly.
