Default Shopping in my closet....

is one of my favorite non-scale victories! And it's free! Some people at work have started noticing my loss and congratulating me, which is great. I can always tell the peeps who've never had to seriously struggle with weight because they look at me strangely when I talk about shopping in my closet. No shame here! Clothes are fun wherever I find them!

I love finding a pair of jeans I haven't worn in years and they FIT!

Good job!! I've been doing the same thing. It's a great feeling to get into something you never thought you would wear again.

I love it! I have a huuugggggeee bag with probably 30-40 clothing items in it that don't fit and occasionally I'll go through it to see what is starting to fit! I'm expecting another big rush of "new" closet clothes around 230lbs.

I love that! On the same note, I love putting away clothes that are now too big! I'm hoping to fill a huuuuuggggeeee bag of them

I just did that same thing this weekend. I put on an old scrub top that I haven't worn since my son was born. It was AWESOME! Interestingly enough I am having a hard time getting rid of the clothes that are too big. I know I should think differently, but, what if I need them again?

I know - I have 2 boxes of clothes from my thinner days, I cannot WAIT until I can shop in those boxes. When things are too big they are going to the DONATE bag - I will NEVER go back!

Cindy, you just need to change your thinking - commit that you will never be what you were. You don't need those big clothes because you are moving FORWARD not BACKWARD. You can do it!

Last year I went through my closet and got rid of all my smaller clothes figuring I would be fat forever! Now I have to buy new stuff but have found some used and sale items. I am trying not to buy too much until I hit my goal. Started at 22's and am down to 12's!

Get rid of the old clothes - I highly suggest a garage sale or a consignment shop - you will need the extra bucks to buy new stuff! My closet is now 100% new as I am the smallest I have ever been in my life. I blew through all my "skinny" clothes when I went past size 12 (my original 'goal pants'), I ended Phase 1 at a size 2, and now in Phase 3 I just dropped again and fit into size 0! My big fist pump moment was realizing I could wear 'cute shoes' again with no pain!

The same thing happened to me!! This is awesome news! When I was in college I was a size 6 and for a long time after that also. Then after I got married and was happy and settled I went all the way up to a 16. Now I'm down to size 10 and I still have 8 more lbs to go before goal weight!!

I also do the shopping in my closet every other week. I make 2 piles, one that is too big and one that can fit/or still to fit. I gave away a bunch of stuff a few weeks ago and waited to try on a new pair of jeans that I never wore. Now they are too big too!! But they went to a friend so it's ok. As for buying more, I go into Goodwill for a few "new" things when I drop off my big bag of old bigger things! Works out well and keep the hubby happy with less clothes in the closet

Get rid of the old stuff! If you keep them "just in case", then you are unconsciously telling yourself that this is a temporary change and you will revert back to before. Don't let yourself think that way. You can do it!!!

I have also been shopping in my closet lately. I'm wearing most of my " skinny clothes" now, but I'm sure I 'm just passing through and they will be too big in a month. Hooray!

Wow, Liz, I haven't considered that I might be able to handle cute shoes! Without all that extra weight, I guess so!

I saved a pair of jeans for like.. 5 years now that I used to LOVE... well, I took them out of my "skinny bin" and put them on... they FELL OFF.

I was allll sorts of excited about that. ...except I have no jeans that I can wear that aren't loose and I'm in between sizes at the mall.. rar!!

I did the same thing yesterday too! Love getting rid of the too-big clothes! I refuse to go 'back'. Started out in very tight 18s. Now, the 12s are slightly loose in the waist, but the 10s are still too tight. Once I get to 8s I'll have to begin shopping as I don't have anything in that size or smaller to wear to work.

I just gave a massive bag of my bigger clothes to a friend. My husband thought I should save them just in case. I disagreed, I don't ever want o fit in them again. If bigger clothes are in your closet it makes it easier to slowly fit back into them. I shopped in my closet for awhile but now even those clothes are too big. Been scouring the kohls clearance racks coupons in hand.
