Default Food questions from a Newbie

Looking for some advice please, I'm on Phase 1, Week 1, Day 3:

1) What happens if I don't like a certain IP food and can't finish it (seriously?). I'm trying the Blueberry, Cranberry, Pomegranate drink and I can't choke it down (even added extra water.). It's WAY too sweet and sickly and making me gag! I'm not hungry (ate my 2 cups of veggies) so do I just toss it and move on?

2) I had a coffee earlier and had 2ozs of milk instad of just 1oz, is that a big deal? I find 1 oz doesn't do anything in my coffee and it was suggested I not eliminate it all together yet (too much withdrawal of other things in the first week.)

3) Can I use Montreal Steak Spice on my food? Or Cajun spice? 1/4 tsp is O cal. O fat and 1 g of carbs.

4) Can I use Lime Juice?

5) Is there any restrictions to what veggies you can eat (from the allowable list) at once? I mean, can I have 2 cups of any and all veggies roasted or bbq'd or however else I choose to eat them? Are there certain veggies you shouldn't combine?

My first week if I didnt like something, I threw it out and tried another. Usually after 1-2 sips/bites I knew I didnt like it.

The extra oz of milk the first week probably will not hurt you. I wouldnt make it a habit though.

If you use the montreal steak seasoning (I love it too), don't do it every day. 1-2 carbs here or there add up and before you know it you are out of ketosis.

Not sure about lime juice.

Veggies- if it's on the unrestricted list you could eat them in any combination or even 4 cups of one thing. I measure all mine raw.

Try making sure the BCP drink is very cold, I drink it every other night over ice. But you need to get it down.

I would say no on the seasoning. Tony Chachere's makes a spicey seasoning that's good.

You need to stick with 1oz milk. Milk does contain sugar. I bought some french vanilla EAS premade shakes from walmart, worked great in my coffee. Had 2 cups of coffee to get down the whole shake, and it counts as a meal.

Not sure on the lime.

On the veggies, certain ones you can only have once or maybe twice a week. But mushrooms are my go to veggie, and I eat 2 cups sauteed in my EVOO and put them in my chicken soup. I eat that almost everyday for lunch, I also add the Tony Chachere's seasoning, Garlic and Onion Powder.

RE: the drinks - if you take a couple of sips of something and can't stomach it, better to move on to something you do like. But if you decide you don't like it after having half of it, better to hold your nose and chug it down like it's medicine. I am not a big fan of the fruity shakes but I can tolerate them when I blend with a few ice cubes after mixing in water. Mostly I stick to using the puddings as shakes.

RE: milk. Slippery slope here. Part of the point of this diet is to BREAK you FREE from the habits that landed you where you are, and trying to mentally justify that little extra is not helping you. It is going to leave you vulnerable to other moments where "it's just a little" seems ok but can lead to bigger and badder cheats. This diet works when you don't cheat and trust the program. Many folks here use 1/3 of a container of EAS AdvantEDGE vanilla (or the vanilla RTD) as creamer for their coffee. I actually mix up the cappuccino with a little less water and pour THAT into my hot coffee in a big mug, and that's my breakfast some days.

RE: Seasoning - as someone said, those carbs add up if you are too liberal. Watch your serving sizes and don't use them every day. Check for seasoning blends with no sugar/carbs - there are lots out there!

RE: Lime juice. We can use lime and lemon juice in small amounts as a condiment. I generally use the equivalent of 1 wedge squeezed.

RE: veggies - you can divvy up your 4 cups with any combination of the "selected veggies", any way you'd like. Just be aware if you use anything on the "Restricted veggie" list that they are one cup, no more than twice a week and must be included in your 4 cup count for the day. Only lettuce is unlimited.

Blu/Cran/Pom is a collagen drink & not meant to be one of the 3 protein packets for the day. There are MANY packets I think are too sweet. I just slammed them the first time & then didn't get again

This program has rules for a reason. I'd follow them if you want the results you are paying for.
I use vanilla Ready-to-Drink (RTD) in mine. My coach says the small amount I use is okay & I don't have to use the whole one.

For example, if you're having green beans, I wouldn't add tomato.
