  • I started Ideal Protein yesterday and, man what a rough day!!
    Felt okay in the morning... then the afternoon got a wicked headache, and after dinner I was throwing up!!
    What gives? For the headache I tried the salt in the water but it didn't work... and neither did Advil. I knew to expect a little nausea but never have I heard anyone throwing up.
    Today is going a little better, slight headache, and no nausea. But I feel HUNGRY!
    I feel full after I eat (which is encouraging), but I think my tendency to snack is coming back to bite me in the butt!! Was hoping to save my snack for after dinner but was too hungry!
    Just looking for some encouragement that it gets better!
    I've tried other diets in the past but couldn't stick to them, I'm hoping the quick results (that everyone seems to have) will keep me on track!!
  • It does get better, the third day was the worst for me, headaches and constant hunger. I did 5 packets on the 2nd and 3rd day, by the 4th I was fine. Pickles are your best friend when you feel the hunger starting. I'm at day 34 and still going. You can do it!

  • Remember how awful you feel right now...because if you cheat on IP you will have to go through it ALL OVER AGAIN to get back in ketosis! The first 3 days truly stink, just wait...give yourself a chance and your body will reward you tremendously come your first WI!
  • I will definitely keep that in mind when I want to cheat!!
  • It does get better. The 2nd & 3rd day were roughest for me, but then - BAM!! I felt ok the 4th day.

    It's totally worth it, IMO. You'll soon know what IP supporters are talking about.

  • Like everyone said, the first 3 days are rough. I didn't get sick like you, but a friend of mine did. Day 4, you'll start feeling human again, and not hungry very often. By the end of the 2nd week you'll feel better than you have in ages. I'm ending week 6 Friday. After 5 weeks I lost 23lbs. It's so worth the rough beginning.
  • First 3-4 days are the worse. hang in there...it DOES get better!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Im going to assume the throwing up part came probably from the headache you couldnt get rid of ...Thats typical migrane associated symptoms...

    However i agree with others...first 3 days suck the most..the 4th day i came across as super emotional and by the 5th day i was over it all and life was good...Being a past cheater, i can also tell you that its a lot harder if you cheat, to go back on plan and stay on plan..it takes a lot of will power to say no a second time vs the first time...

    However..being a past cheater, i can also say that if you do go off plan...get back on plan as fast as you can..the longer off plan, the harder it is to get back on plan...
  • Thanks for all the support, today (Day 3) is way way better... headache comes and goes (not constant any more! woo hoo!) and am feeling more human! Hopefully tomorrow brings even more good!!
  • I am on 3 weeks and down 20 lbs. Stick with it. It works & I feel so much better now. I am not fighting the food at all. I dont have the old cravings I used to battle every day. Wow... great to be make healthy decisions & not feel like I am driven by the food!
  • I am on day 4 of IP and had a MAD headache on day 2. But honestly i feel great today. It has been the first day that I havent been starving and wanting to eat everything in sight! Like everyone said it does get better (Its seems to be anywaya)

    Take it one day at a time and you will reach your goals. For me when I am drinking my '10' gallons of water and eating this foreign food I think to myself "I am this much closer to being who I want to be on the outside".
    This is a small sacrifice to get where we wanna be.

  • Thanks everyone! I'm now on day 5!! Doing a lot better! Just wish these darn cravings would go away! :P
