Angry IP Slow Weight Loss and IUD

I have had a slow last three weeks on the plan.
At my weigh in yesterday I actually had a .2 gain.

I am very very strict on the program and was upset over this gain, combined with the slow loss.

My coach just left me a voice mail stating that my slow weight loss may be to my IUD that I have as my choice of birth control.

Does anyone else have an IUD? How are your finding your weight loss?

I don't have an IUD, but I was wondering if my perscription meds might slow me down? Anyone know?

What week are you on? Maybe your body just needed a chance to catch up?

I have a IUD and have lost almost 11 lbs in about 2.5 weeks. I haven't noticed anything yet with the IUD slowing down my weight loss.

I have an IUD (mirena) and have lost 40 lbs in just less then two months. That being said I definately have WAY more to loose then you do, which seems to matter.

I'm having difficulty this week though, but I take heart in everyone's stats as everyone had some issues along their journey.

I can't see how your IUD would make a difference...it's a very small amount of birth control that is centralized to your uterus. Although, I did feel the difference between being completely off birth control and then having it via the IUD.

I'm definately interested to see what others say.

I just joined this forum today and this is my first post. As I was browsing around this caught my eye because I am on Mirena. I hope it doesn't slow me down. So far, so good though.

I am on week 8 - and I have not had any "big" weeks as I have seen other people have here.

It is a struggle to follow everything to a T, and have nothing happen. I just thought I would see what is happening with other people, before consulting back with him.

I have had my IUD for two years, and had no weight gain when it was inserted, and my doctor has stated that it should in no way effect my weight loss.

I've had the Mirena since Sept 2010, as you can see from my ticker it hasn't slowed my weight lost down. HOWEVER, IP has started my TOM!!! Which makes me not happy. I'm guessing that the hormones released from the fat loss is causing this to happen.

Small thing to deal with when I feel great and am dropping weight.

I have the Mirena IUD and did so when I started back in January. It did not affect my weight loss in any way at that time.. That being said, everyone has different rates at which they will lose weight, some faster than others. The diet works, keep faithful to protocol and you will see results.. Sometimes those results come in more inches lost than pounds. You WILL have low weeks and high weeks, it's all just a balancing act within your body. Just don't give up.. I did after just 6 weeks due to family issues and sooooo regret it. But I'm back and giving it my all! Best of luck to you dear!!

drink extra water. I feel adding more water in this diet helps.

Yes, it happened to me too. I was shocked! But estrogen is stored in fat, so when you shed the fat, estrogen is also released.

So even though it is a pain, it must be a good sign!

I have the Mirena. I don't think that it has anything to do with weight loss or gain. It's a pretty weight neutral method of birth control.

With that said, I think the estrogen associated with fat loss is a factor. My periods have been a little wonky on IP.

After speaking with 2 Dr. about my weight and wondering this they said no merana was not to blame

I also found that after starting my weight loss journey week 3 I got a period after not having one for over 2 years...boo, but I guess I'll take it over the fat
