S/C/G: 179.6 on a quest to 140

Height: 5' 3''

Default Scared I am out of ketosis :( :( :(

I am a newbie - had my first WI today and lost 7.2lbs and 9''.

My husband and I went out to an anniversary dinner tonight and I had a steak, broc, & roasted peppers and zucchini - sounds great right? I asked for it without oil etc. but the steak was marinated in honey garlic and the veggies were cooked in butter …. realized after I ate about 1/2 cup of veggies and never realized about the steak until I got home and looked up the nutrition information - so scared I am out of ketosis

I just did a quick search on this and it doesn't look like it is a sauce, it looks like it is a marinade. The meat does not absorb that much, and the nutritional info I read had 0-3G of sugar. It may not be as much as you think. The butter won't put you out either. I think you are ok. if you want to be sure you could always pick up some ketostix.

It's ok, just remember the nice time that you had with your hubby, not what you ate.

I even started with mixed greens and my WF salad dressing that I brought myself - totally not me but I committed. Damn, that steak was good… I hope it was 'legal' - I will go back next Friday, lol

Don't beat yourself up, sounds like you should be okay. Just use this as a lesson learned - I've definitely had a few of those eating out....just keep on trucking!

Lol, don't beat yourself up about it. You could call the restaurant and ask what ingredients they use. If they say it is proprietary just explain your diet and ask if they put sugar or honey in, etc.
You just have to make the best of what you have.

Helllooo im new at this too! Im a little over a week in and I get nervous im out of ketosis too. I bought some test strips from walgreens "ketostix" they measure the ketone in your urine. Haha. It puts me at ease to see it turn maroonish.. I heard though that the color doesnt exactly indicate properly. Cause if your dehydrated it could be more "potent". Bit at least youll have an idea! It always fun to pee now too!

Just as a note, it takes aprox 100 g of carbs to knock most people out of ketosis. Dont beat yourself up over it, just get right back on program tomorrow. You'll be fine!

Yup.....I have been in maintenance for one year tomorrow....I do reboots periodically where I am in ketosis for about 2 weeks....sometimes I have full nights off and it doesn't take me out...

But if you are just starting...steer clear of anything....I didn't eat anywhere but home for 4 months...very extreme but I just wanted the weight...GONE!

Drink a lot of water to flush the salt out of your system. The steak was probably salted also. My wife is chef and that is very common. My doctor says to eat some honey to curb hunger. I don't normally do it.
