Strictly speaking, the almond milk has 2.5 g fat in a whole cup, whereas skim milk has none. We are supposed to only have 1 oz skim with our tea/coffee. I thought that was a pretty pathetic amount, so I started drinking my tea and coffee black. I started drinking a pot of chai tea in the morning and with the wonderful spices in it did not miss the milk I used to add. Now I'm in Phase 4 and I really love almond milk...
Remember, if the tea you're drinking has caffeine, double up on the water to compensate.
