Good morning all! or should I say 'good middle of the night...?' I woke up to go to the bathroom and then the coyotes down the road started yelping and I couldn't sleep. I used to think they were neat, like in a song, but now I think they are creepy when they all start howling.

Anyway, today I start Phase 4. I go to see my coach today and the hand-outs she gave me are scrawled with my questions. I've read them over and over and I think it is sinking in, but the much more open limits are so different than the structure of Phase 1. I am determined to take it one day at a time, though, and have faith that this process works.

I got a few groceries today, that included a couple of baking potatoes and a sweet potato. Oh boy! I will be busy trying to come up with recipes that use plant based protein in sufficient quantities and combinations like grains/legumes, so that it isn't always meat on my plate.

Hope you all have a splendid day!

Ohhhhh, I don't know why I thought phase 4 was a continuation of phase 3 with no packets. All I thought was that you had a cheat day where you could eat anything you want and went back to phase 1 or 3 or something for the rest of the week.

How exciting to be starting phase 4! You came a long way and did such a great job. You will do fine. Just like when we all started phase 1, we had so many questions and then it became second nature. You are a great inspiration to those of us still in the early phases. Good luck! :)

1st Post!

Well- I am starting my 4th week of IP tomorrow and lost 15 lbs in the 1st 3 weeks AND 25 inches. I feel so much better on IP than I have in a long time. I did 6 hrs of yard work yesteday without stopping (except for water or course ;) ) I am looking forward to reading about all the tips other members have and what has worked, which products tatse the best ( ohh the new chicken noodle) and which products have you mixed together ( 1/2 pkg Peach/Mango & 1/2 pkg Orange- YUMMY) Have a great IP day- Off to work for this nurse.

Purplesky - I think you do keep the Phase 3 breakfast, which is fine with me, but in Phase 4 you are allowed all the vegees you want, not just 2 cups at a time, and any of them are allowed, so I can have carrots and potatoes again. They don't say it, but I'm thinking you still want to watch how many or how often you have the high glycemic vegees though. You also aim for not having a high-fat and high-carb things in one meal, so at lunch you can have the fat but no pasta, but at dinner you can have the pasta but little to no fat. I'm hoping 'little' includes a bit of olive oil...

Cadu-thank you so much. Funny, the thought of eating a potato or heaven forbid, a splurge meal, still brings a vision of lightening striking me from above. Like when I was a kid and fibbed. :) It'll take time but I'm sure I can do it. I think the phasing out process is where this diet really makes a difference from others.

Sewmam,
If it's possible and not too much to ask, would you share with us the the Q&A after you return from your appt? It would be so helpful for many of us.

Thanks in advance for considering this,
Chloe

Good morning all. Well I am visiting with my brand new first granddaughter for the first time. She is GORGEOUS!!! Traveled abroad to see her, but I have totally managed to stay OP through flights and new surroundings. When I arrived very late the first night, after flying all day, I only had access to all my IP food, so I had a Chocolate shake for my "dinner". Hope that was okay!! But IP since!! And my heart has been melted by my baby's face!!

On my last weigh in, I had a zero weight loss by pounds, but lost 6.5 pounds of body fat!!! I will accept that!! I will be visiting for 2 weeks, and will be looking forward to the WI on my return!!

Congrats on phase 4! You will do great, just remember everything you've learned while on the program. We used to live out in the country, and my husband traveled and was gone for a week at a time. The coyotes ALWAYS creeped me out when I was home alone...they always sounded so close!

Happy Monday! It's been so nice here...we've been sleeping with the windows open, and I've been waking up to the birds chirping! LOVE IT! We've also been spending lots of time outside with the kids, and I can tell I feel better about myself. I'm trying new things, and playing with the kids instead of watching. It's an awesome feeling. It's going to be in the 80s here today, and I'm wearing a TANK TOP for the first time in years! Hope everyone has a great day!
