It has to be 0/0/0. If you find a P cheese that's 0/0/0 please share its name! ;)

Ask your coach. Mine said I could have 1 oz of cheese in lieu of the 1 oz of milk in morning tea/coffee.

I heard too that we could have feta instead of the morning milk and my coach advised to check for equivalent calorie / fat count to milk. Plus she preferred me to eat this early in the day and only occasionally not every day.

Lettuce wrap 03-25-2012 10:30 PM

O/0/0. Is this carb/fat/??

Samba 03-25-2012 10:47 PM

No carbs, no fats, no calories.

2012s new me 03-25-2012 11:46 PM

I have eaten Parmesean Cheese since week 3 and I am on week 9/10. My coach said no with all the carbs and I said there are none and she didnt respond. It is the only way sometimes I can get my salad in! But this is me and we are all different!

serendipityberry 03-26-2012 11:13 AM

Just be aware that it can be a slippery slope...add a little of this and a little of that. But, yep, I add a little from time to time. It is yummy and typically no carbs. So it adds a few cals...just be more mindful to be a bit more active that day :)

New Englander 03-26-2012 11:21 AM

Yup...little "cheats" add up...I wouldn't do it...good luck! :)

ShannaSchueller 03-26-2012 12:43 PM

Actually it's carbs, fat, and sugars, not calories.

Sccrkeepr 03-26-2012 05:13 PM

I've had parmasan cheese since week 2, i never drink my 1 oz of allowed milk, so i find it to be the equivalent. Also, kraft non fat shredded mozzeralla has no fat, less than one carb and no sugars. I find the cheese to be way more satisfying than the milk in my coffee.

Sccrkeepr 03-26-2012 05:15 PM

Also, I want to add, some people think that one cheat leads to another, but i see it as keeping me sane throughout this process. This is a lifestyle choice and phase one is not the way we will be eating for the rest of our lives. I think if i satisfy my cravings by using parmasan cheese or non fat dressing with no sugar and less than one carb it makes this whole process easier.

New Englander 03-26-2012 05:25 PM

I think we should encourage newbies to stay 100% OP...its' the best way this diet works. And if they struggle they can decide for themselves if they want to cheat. Just my two cents...and yes I haven't cheated once. No one ever said dieting is easy.

i was by no means encouraging anyone, everyone here is an adult they can make their own decisions. I was just saying, i dont beat myself up over it because it helps me to stay motivated.

Gotcha.

I don't think I could limit the amount of cheese I had, even if it had been allowed by my coach. Since 1 oz skim milk in my coffee was pretty pathetic, I just got used to good, black coffee.

Sticking 100% to plan for a good amount of time is a good idea, I'm thinking. When you have the confidence that you have control over your urges, maybe branch out, but you've got to know what you really can do, and not loose control. It's not worth it otherwise.

Lettuce wrap 03-26-2012 08:17 PM

Thanks guys I appreciate all the imput. I do not want to cheat for as long as I can. I had hibachi tonight and realized a little late that I think they used teriyaki sauce so I just tried to blott everything . I think this diet is so psychological that we all have ways off getting trough it.

Hmmm. There have been times when an individual's two cents weren't worth a plugged nickel on this board. Just gotta say.

Hmmm...I was just giving my opinion and not trying to be blatantly rude. Good luck on your IP journey. :)

I totally agree New Englander. My coach stressed NO CHEATING and I haven't. I am only on week 3 but I know once I start adding in questionable items, I may lose control. I am impressed with your loss and your advice on this forum....THANKS!

Wow Survalia having a bad day??? Rude......

New Englander I think a lot of people agree with both sides of this. I personally try to stay 100% OP every day! But then some days I want to give the whole thing up so I guess we all do what we have to do. But we should always be able to add our TWO CENTS if we want :)

OK -- The reason that I said that is that I am still stinging from the time when NEW ENGLANDER herself told me to "KEEP YOUR TWO CENTS" when I voiced a comment that she disagreed with. Of course I should not have stooped to the same RUDE level, and I hope the board will accept my apology for doing so.

I ate my second restricted today...I've never done that before. I was craving it and just had it...it was the double chocolate bar. I eat them every morning, but I woke up from an afternoon nap and decided to eat it... Will this throw me off at all??? I'll be eating low car veggies with eggs for dinner... ??? Is this considered a "cheat"?!?!?! Thanks!

No one's perfect. ;)

I for one sure can't wait to have cheese!!! It's been sooooooooooooooooo long!!! :) Be well and enjoy your journey! :)

KaylaxoLynn 04-02-2012 07:23 PM

Instead of the milk, sometimes I eat parmesan cheese too. I wouldn't do it every day though.

Ive done it....but really everybody is different so I think its important to not slam eachother. Everybody knows what works for them and shouldnt "preach" either way. Ive seen a similar arguement about alternatives. Personally do what is best for you, dont let ppl who dont know you crucify you for slipping up or making different decisions. Just stay on your path and we will all get there eventually.
