  • I would say that this program might not be a good fit for everyone...I did loose 100 pounds in 6 months... doing no exercice what so ever...(drinking diet pop, cooking my onions, having light Miracle Whip mayo, not eating lettuce and not weighting my food) and I sure was not paid to loose weight.

After the 6 months I decided I wanted to exercice to tone...oufff then I couldnt stay on program I was tooo hungry. I then met with a nutritionist who checked how much calories I should get etc .. and I was at 2200 cal with exercice (having a daily deficit of 500 cal to loose 2 more pounds per week). That being said...that didnt do me well.. I got injured, couldnt exercice much and starting eating bad...u all know how this ends...

All that being said, there is tons of ways to loose weight out there, but if you know how your body reacts you will know what is the right fit for ya... my prob is carbs...Im insulinoresistant..IP perrrrrrrrrfect for me... but if you are not aware if anything is wrong with you to start with, you might create a bigger problem in the end...

My advise...start with a complete doctor physical and see what fits you, maybe if your an active person, regular food with calorie intake controlled is all you need...if I was able to stick to a exercising routine that is for sure what I would do as in the long term it is way more healthy!

Good luck and im sure you will find what is right for you...one last thing, in all my failled attempt one variable is commun in all the times I succeded...I picked something and followed it thru no matter what...not 3/4 of it.. no 1/2 of it
  • In line with flora's post, I am reading an article in First magazine by Dr. Oz. It is on different weight approaches for different DNA types. That DNA part is confusing but we all can tell what type you are by how you react to diets. He says 45% of woman do best on low carb;39% do best on low fat and 16% of women need a balanced diet between fat and carbs.

I think that this plan works fantastically for those in the low carb and low fat categories which is mostly every one.
But the 16% in the balanced category may need something different, most plans we are all told to follow are balanced.

The thing with people coming in to the threads giving advice that is out of line with IP, they are likely coming in from the first page of 3fatchicks and don't understand the program or realize what section they are on.
  • I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for your replies. I met with my coach and moved to the alternate plan for awhile. She said that when I stalled out at the 50lb loss we shoulda done it then rather than me setting myself up for failure over and over again.

Oh well. This is a fresh start to get me to my 197 goal.
  • Well I hope you get this worked out. The basics of this plan are good and I liked that it supports lean body mass while losing body fat. It was unfortunate for me that my tummy can't tolerate many protein supplements but I really researched this plan and actually used the basic precepts to tweak my own. I have insulin resistance and I don't think people know enough about the benefits of high quality protein foods in their diet.

Best of luck to you. I hope you get to realize your goal this go around.
