IP Not Working?

  • Hi All!

This forum + personal experience from a distant friend prompted me to start IP. I was so excited! I am on Day 10 and have been 100% faithful with everything. Complete change of eating habits. I have eaten more vegetables in the past 10 days than in the past 2 months.

So the reason I'm posting? No weight loss. None. 0 pounds in 10 days. My coach claims I'm losing inches all over, but I tried on some clothes after she measured and they do not fit any differently.

Has IP ever failed anyone? I cannot figure out why I would not have lost something due to the drastic change in eating habits alone.

If anyone has any advice or experience with non-starting (but persevering!) on this diet, I would greatly appreciate any help. I am giving it one more week, but it is too expensive to keep going without measurable success.

Thanks to everyone who has posted their successes in this forum. Your stories are incredible and inspirational!
  • Hi there! I`m not sure if I can help or not but could you post what you are eating in a day and maybe we can figure something out.
  • Have to ask, are you perfectly healthy? Taking any meds? Let us know, with more info maybe we can figure this out.
  • Were you on a low carb plan before you started IP? Is it TOM?
  • Yeah, post what you typically eat. If you are doing ip according to plan it would be very unlikely you would lose nothing...not even inches.
  • Food!
    Hi All!

    Thanks for responding!

B: IP Vanilla drink and 8 oz of coffee mixed - every day - love it!
L: Broccoli in an IP soup / raw broccoli and an IP shake, Lettuce, Salt
    S: IP Pudding/ Raspberry Gelatin
D: Protein, veggies, and lettuce. Big Mac in a Bowl twice! Egg white omlette with crab and spinach one night with a side salad. Tofu stirfry with broccoli, red peppers, and garlic.

72 oz of water everyday - extra to account for the coffee. Occasionally a drop or two of WF dressing.

No snacking in between at all. One night I had a cup of chamomile tea to get to sleep (no sweetener).

I have not been hungry either, so hence the no snacking. Once I realized I was eating at night out of boredom (Day 2) - it has been the end of even wanting anything.

I do take Xanax fairly regularly for anxiety - but no other health problems. Blood sugar is completely normal. (Had it checked right before I started.)

My coach suggested more lettuce and eating even more protein. She also gave me a thermogenic fat supplement sample that I took at 9AM and kept me up until 3AM. No thanks to that and no weight loss.

I have 50+ pounds to lose on a 5'3" frame - so I expected the weight to just start falling off. I have gone from eating Chipotle 4 nights a week to spinach and a cod filet.

So supplements? More protein? If I have no success by next week's weigh-in, I was just going to buy lots of IP leek soup (I loved that) and go alternative for almost everything else.

Any and all help is appreciated! Thank you so much in advance for considering my problem! I will be so incredibly disappointed if this does not work!

    Thanks!
  • Are you having oil on your salad? If not, add that.
It looks like a good meal plan. If you feel good I would stick with it for a couple more weeks before giving up. Ip will work!
  • Good Morning all. Still new to the program. Feeling a bit this morning. Did a weigh yesterday and weight was down 2 pounds. On the scale this morning, and its all back. I have WI today, and a bit worried as last week, I lost weight, but it was muscle apparently, and my fat percentage actually increased. They look at me as if I have been cheating!! I have stayed TOTALLY OP since the start. I am losing inches, drinking water, doing all that I know, but......

    Oh well,

This week I had a tooth extraction, and had 5 days antibiotics. I have had 3 IP non-restricteds each day, 2 cups of veggies twice daily, salad once per day with 1 tbsp WF dressing, 80 ozs water, and no more than 1 tbsp of olive oil. 1 mug of coffee with 1 oz skim, 1 packet splenda.....thats it...totally.
Let you know how the WI goes!! HELP if you can!!

Take a deep breath.... Looks like you are eating just fine. Maybe try adding a restricted in for breakfast, one IP for lunch with your veggies, a regular dinner and a IP shake for a night snack. It could be that your body is not getting enough to make it thru the night and is going into starvation mode. Make sure that you are getting your oil in, if you don't use it on a salad in a dressing, saute some veggies in it for dinner.

Give it some time, not eveyones losses are the same as everyone elses. Inches lost are a good thing too.

You may want to try a restrictive every other day to change up the amount of carbs you are getting. Hang with it.
  • Quote: But why are you having an IP soup and an IP shake at lunch?
Don't think she is. I think the slash indicates "or"

Gotcha, didn't even think of it that way. Thanks. Corrected it so it is not seen,
  • When I started IP it was a "slow" start too. A friend dropped 10 pounds immeadiately whereas I didn't move BUT you can't eat that way (presuming no cheating) and not lose. It did start though and stayed at a steady average of 1-1/2 pounds a week. Keep track of EVERYTHING you eat! If it goes in your mouth, write it down. I found a free App which I use on my Ipad to keep track but you can use paper, etc. The point being, I discovered that my gummy vitamins also added carbs which add to the total, etc. Hang in there, it will happen.
  • I would not worry overly about fat vs muscle loss unless it continues to be an ongoing trend. Those scales are in accurate and hydration is very important to the reading.

Most people will lose some muscle if they have a lot to lose (not saying you do) as they have a lot more to begin with.

If you are seeing big ups and downs consider what veggies you are eating. Turnips make me retain water, asparagus does the opposite. Bit over the week it evens out.

What kind of app do you use? I have Android but I am looking for something for my phone.

I did not lose any weight for like 4 days. I remember feeling bloated and very uncomfortable those first few days. And my first WI was 6 days after I started.
