Default TOM Question

Hi all, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing a change in their cycle? I was always like clockwork until I started this diet and suddenly I was a week late last month and 10 days late (so far) this month. I know it could be coincidence and it could be menopause (I'm 47) but I am hoping not yet!. Any feedback would be appreciated

I've read a lot on these boards that TOM gets really messed up on this diet. Some people experience more frequent "visits" and other see less "visits". Each person is affected differently.

Yup - I've had it 6 times in 106 days which averages about once every 2.5 weeks. Niiiiiiice. I'm 46 though so it could be a combo of IP and "that time of life" HTH

Your coach should have cautioned you about birth control being less effective. Double up if you don't want diapers in the near future

My first few months on IP were crazy, especially months 2/3 but things seem to be leveling out.

I think you missed that she's 47. However, I do know people that had menopause babies! You just never know!!

I am almost 49 and had been starting to skip months here and there prior to IP. I have my TOM right now and had it 3 weeks ago. This diet does mess with your cycle. The Dr. at the center is go to said it is because "estrogen is stored in fat cells and that as we lose weight we are expelling the extra estrogen." It made sense until I started thinking today that I have been on many diets over the years, lost weight and have never had this happen. There must be more to it because many people post about their cycles being messed up on this diet.

Thanks for all the replies, it does seem like most people are getting it more often, rather than less often. I guess I just have to face the fact that it's menopause
Mamacita, LOL about menopause babies but bite your tongue!!!

It's true! The cycles get all messed up! Dr. Tran also mentions it in his book! I basically had not has one for aobut 2 years, and I have been OP for a month and it has not stopped!!! Hang in there it sounds like it's normal!

I am 42 years old and i am also experiencing a 39 - 43 day cycle and I was always like clockwork at 28 days prior. I have been OP for almost 7 months and this started 3 months ago. I thought the same thing... Diet or menopause????

I am so happy to see this post and know I’m not the only one out there having issues! I am much young then some of you ladies (28 on Saturday). I started on IP 5 weeks ago and should have started my period into the first week on IP, but it was almost 3 weeks late, so it came and went and was only 5 days. BUT lucky me 9 days later I started my period again! Ugh! I’m on birth control so I’m not sure why things are so messed up, but I’m hoping they work themselves out! I feel your pain!

I also have has issues. Last year at the start of IP I had a few 2 TOM months, even on BCP.

I have not had any TOM for the last 3 months. I am not pregnant (have taken many tests). I am 40, so it could be the start of early menopause, but it is probably the diet combined with the amount of exercise I do. If it happens this month I will go back to my dr, but as body fat drops this can occur, and I am not willing to change right now!!!

When i started IP I skipped my TOM for two whole months! AND I'm on birth control which usually keeps me very regular.... No doubt IP screws up our hormone levels
