    I have 2 theories:
The cookie! I think its ever since I started eating 1 almost everyday instead of a bar the scale stopped moving.
    Or....
Meds! I have a hiatal hernia, and take nexium on a daily basis, but lately I've been adding Maalox chewable tablets. I eat them like candy to prevent chest pain due to the heart burn. (

What do u guys Think? I know when I'm in ketosis due to the sweet flavor in my mouth, nausea and headache, but that doesn't last very long. I'm getting very frustrated going up and down these 5lbs. I go from 239 to 236 up again to 240. Ahhh!!! Help.
You could try a "jump start" week where you only have unrestricted foods all week. Definitely cut down on the cookie- treat it like the spaghetti, only twice a week. It will start coming off again, don't worry! Stay strong!!
  • Quote: I used to eat a cookie only once or twice a week due to the larger amount of carbs...could be why I've only been maintaining.
When I went for my WI today I checked and the sign by the cookies says to limit to once or twice a week.
  • Its for sure the cookie. My packet says to only have it, at the max, twice a week. If you haven't tried the chocolate soy puffs, do it. They are the bomb-diggity. LOL, I love them.
  • I LOVE the choco puffs! Especially when TOM comes around--they are a lifesaver!
  • FYI my place says that you should have the cookie once a week, so I don't even bother to get it!
  • I will def. Be trying the soy puffs. As of today, I am only having the 3 nonrestricted with my salads and protein. My coach never said anything about the cookie slowing down my weight loss. Then again I feel she trys to sell more than help. She's a very nice lady....but not great help.

I woke up today and I weighed myself...it was down to 235. Let's see if this will get it moving again. Thank you all!! I would be lost without this site!

In her defense, she may not be aware that it should only be twice a week. I am a coach, and Ideal Protein said nothing about it being extra-restricted when they came out with the product. I wasn't telling my dieters that it was that limited until I read something about it on this forum and realized (after taking another look at the nutrition facts) that it should be. Technically it is not a part of Ideal Protein protocol that it only be once or twice a week- we are just making that decision ourselves. You should mention it to your coach that you read about it on here, maybe she just hasn't thought of it!

And good luck, I'm sure you'll do great this week!
  • Quote: Haven't seen my coach yet...I couldn't make it to my last weigh in, And then they canceled on me due to a seminar. (its by appt only since its a Drs office)

    My routine goes as follows:
Wake up eat my cookie with 24 oz of water (I wake up starving )
Drink my vitamins, meds, and enzymes
I drink 2 of the Orange IP drinks spread out throughout the day and I include for lunch, shredded lettuce with bell pepper, fresh mushrooms, 2 deli sliced up sugar free low fat ham, 1 boiled egg white and I add some lemon juice as a dressing with some salt.
Have dinner, example:grilled 5-6 oz of chicken breast seasoned with Season All and garlic powder, 2 cups of veggies, and more lettuce and 24 oz water.
At night I drink a pink lemonade IP, and another 24 oz of water.
Antacids, cookie, plus these things that jump out at me:
you are having 4 packets + 5-6 oz chicken, + 2 slices ham, + egg white. Something needs to be cut out, IMO, check with your coach.
Ham is full of sodium, is a processed meat, as is most lunch meats.
Check the ingredients of the Season All. You want salt-free seasonings, unless it's sea salt and no MSG. I think Season All has salt, unless you have a special kind.

It's just the lower sodium season all so it does have sodium. I don't use it often, tbat was just an example of a day. It was in the list my coach gave me as "approved" condiments. I was also told I needed to up my protein to 10 oz a day...figured I would get creative with my salads since I had started to gag with plain lettuce. (I add some WF Ranch dressing and yuuuummmooo. ) ill cut the ham aswell...substitute it for some turkey, or chicken. I didn't have this hard of a time losing the first 30 lbs. Oh well, I guess my body is just changing. I'm willing to try anything or change anything to make this work again!
  • I am stalled as well. I have been going up and down the same 1.5 for the last few weeks. Not nearly as long as you. But I know its happening to me because I added IP oatmeal to my selection of products. Its high in carbs. so I am hoping that this cycle will break if I only have oatmeal once or twice a week. Its trial and error at this point
