I am new to the IP diet as well as this forum. I guess what I'm wondering is if anyone else is or has experienced VERY frequent urination... I found that even before the diet I would have to "pee" a few times after one cup of coffee. Now, I have to "pee" almost every 15 minutes. I realize my water intake has increased as I make a conscious effort to drink more water but I dare not be too far away from a washroom. Are there others out there experiencing this as well?...
That was good advice. I have a similar problem at work. I'm lucky to be close to a bathroom. This is such a wonderful diet for me. I am about a month into it and have lost 25 pounds. Yeah, it is happening and I am so grateful. Hope I can find some friends on line and help keep all of us going to success!

Are you still in your first 3-5 days of being on IP?
Yes, I am on day 4. So far so good but my bladder seems to be in overdrive. Thanks for sharing as I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.
TOTALLY normal. The first 3-5 days are the worst for diuresis, so hang in there! Initially, it's your body flushing your glycogen reserves while you transition into ketosis, and then when you're in ketosis, ketone bodies are produced as you burn fat, which your kidneys keep on flushin'. So yeah, at its simplest, you're losing fat when you pee. I swore by day 3 that I was going to look into astronaut diapers, but luckily, it didn't come to that. It gets better by about day 5 for most people, but if you haven't been drinking enough water, it might still seem like you're going all the time. Remember to drink one cup of water for every cup of caffeinated beverage you have though so that you stay hydrated.
It does get better after a couple of weeks and as your body adjusts. Heck I've been on since August, used to be able to do a full 8 hour drive on a trip without stopping. Now first thing I do when I arrive some place is scout out where the restroom is, better safe then sorry.
I am the same way when I drive to my mom's for 3 hours. I know there is a truck stop 1/2 way there that is safe so that is my pitstop....lol...can't do the trip without stopping anymore....lol

LOL! I can MAYBE go 3 hours, but that's pushing it. When I first went on Phase 1 in August 2010, I lived in Seattle...not the friendliest city for public restroom use, so I outsmarted the system by keeping a card in my wallet that I wrote all the restroom codes for downtown buildings on. If I'd had to buy something every time I had to go, I would've gone broke!
We all suffer from what my brother-in-law calls "TB" (tiny bladders) in my family!! Now more so than ever. I keep thinking of that commercial "gotta go, gotta go right now". And, I always make sure I potty down before leaving work because if there's any traffic on the way home, I'll be in trouble for sure. Hang in there - it's all worth it!
Too funny
I've always been a waterholic and know where are the public restrooms are - course being in alberta we don't have too many safety issues except on dark nights I suppose.
I'm just glad I don't live in Amsterdamor I would be broke as every public washroom charges a fee to enter
Raising my hand on the frequent traveler's award. I made so many trips to the ladies room that my coworkers were starting to get urked cuz I was "slacking off". I figured "oh well", as I filled up another jug of water and headed back to my desk.
I'm glad to see I am not the only one with a teeny tiny bladder and that this is just all part of the master plan so to speak. Thanks for the feedback ladies!
This isn't about urniation but the other function.....I've heard many people talk about having the Big C, and fortunately I have not experienced that yet, but what I am wondering is if other people had other changes in their bowels.... There is not delicate way to put this so I'll just blurt it out..... has anyone else had a change in the color?
