Wuv, love your avatar pic! You are looking good!

Endless Dieter!Finn posted a mini meatloaf recipe on his thread here: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/idea...inland-14.html

Off to the health fair this morning to get my blood work results. We are expecting winter weather later today, up to 3 inches of snow, wind gusts and COLD. Winter is back.....sigh, we had TOO MUCH WINTER LAST YEAR!

boyz4us 11-05-2011 08:52 AM

Finally my home scale is moving in the right direction this week as I finally got a Whoosh! love it because it really helps me stay motivated for the weekend.
I have some challenges today that are going to be tough and keep me surrounded with food, but I am feeling strong and just keeping my Tuesday weigh-in front and center in my mind. also going to remember how good that number on the scale looked this a.m.!

You have the right mindset to be successful today! Keep your eye on the goal!

Today is my big challenge too as it's my son's Bar Mitzvah this morning and his party this afternoon. However I'm not worried at all as all of my out of town friends and family have been here since Thursday and that means lots of eating out for us. But it's been fine and in fact I got on the scale this morning and I'm down 2 pounds since they arrived on Thursday. I guess I've been too busy talking to everyone to really pay any attention to their food.

Have a good Saturday everyone!

Hi Sandy. I love that meatloaf recipe also..just have to figure out how 400 gm relates to pounds.
We had our first snow on the mountains yesterday. Are you ready for the snow? Good luck on your results.

Maile 11-05-2011 09:56 AM

Dana : That is great being down 2 lbs during the bar Mitzvah celebrations. Hope your event goes well today.
Boyz4 us: That is good news about the scale going down during your busy social weekend. I used the WI day as a reminder also..just keep going so I can have a good weigh in.
WUV..I like your new picture. You are looking great!

Last night I tried the Zuccini apple recipe from the Thanksgiving ideas thread. You use Walden Farm apple butter over zuccini soaked in lemon juice. It was quite good. I think I will use it for Thanksgiving.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning IPeepers!

Today was my first day of Phase 3. Greek yogurt, 10 cherries, toast and 1 T peanut butter, yum. However, my stomach is not feeling too great right this minute, we shall see. I was so missing my yogurt, it is so good for me and my digestion. I will still be on 3fc as I will go back to phase I after the first of the year. I am a slowwww loser,, so I figure I will be on phase I again for about 4 months and then back through to final maintenance, hopefully in the April time frame. :)

Wuv, so sorry about your Aunt, so hard to watch ones we love suffer.

Wuv, you look great in your new pic.

Yvettski, Congrats on 40 lbs that is awesome.

Freezing here, and my thoughts are going out to those who are still without power, we would have to go somewhere, since we don't have a generator and our wood fireplace got converted to gas. It was below zero last night. Hope you are up and running as we speak!

stolaf 11-05-2011 10:58 AM

Morning. I posted this on another thread but I'm so happy, I had to share it again. I had my WI this mornign and I'm down another 2 lbs. I'm getting really close to where I want to be. I'm not sure what the number on the scale will say, but I want to fit into all my old clothes again. That may be another 5-10 lbs but I'm not sure.

Busymomx4 11-05-2011 11:15 AM

Good morning, hope everyone's having a great week-end so far!

wuv, you look amazing girl, wow!!!!

WI#14 this morning, -3. So glad that having a restricted every day doesn't seem to affect my WI

Its getting quite cold here and i had bought a beautiful fall/spring coat in the spring and now its way too big that i look ridiculous with the belt tied and i have a hard time moving in it as there's too much material so that really bums me out but happy too :)

Have a great OP day!

Junetwin11 11-05-2011 11:20 AM

Good morning. I have my 8 yr old nephew sleeping over for the weekend. Lotsa different challenges. Survived yesterday. we usually have spagetti bake, lotsa cheese, mmmmmm. I made it for him, but I had a miracle noodle, hbrgr, stir fry. was sooo good. Went to the movies and saw Puss n boots. mmmmm popcorn. Did not have any! I had my own fizzy lemon water, and was satisfied w that. Did not cheat @ all :) So proud of myself :) Gonna have a weiner roast with him today, fun. And I have some veggie dogs to cook on the fire and i will roast some red peppers on the fire too. I just love this site for the inspiration and support to stay on track. Thank you :)

Congrats on the 2lbs, you have worked hard for them. When you are facing your challenges today, just remember those 2 lbs can happen again next week IF you put your mind to it and say....I wanna lose another 2lbs this week that bite isn't worth it now is it?

That is great that you loss 2pounds with family and friends in town and eating out. And you are totally right, when you are visiting with everyone you forget about the food because at events like this it is more about catching up and enjoying the company than eating all the different foods. Have fun today :)

Your breakfast sounds yummy!!....I know my mom tells me what she eats and I am like GEEZE that is a lot of food sometimes. ONE day I will be able to eat like that again :)

Thank you, I got a text from one of my aunts daughters last night. She was alert and talking last night. They had her so medicated on Oxy-cotton she couldn't function. She knew we all went visit her and to her she was talking but nothing was coming out because she was so drugged up.

Montana is so beautiful and I would love to live there. Winter is an obstacle and I don't think I could tolerate the cold. I do love the wide open spaces and the colored mountain sides and pink fields, etc. The snow is what keeps me in Illinois. We get a little here, but not usually more than a few inches at a time. About once or twice a year we will get a snow storm, but other than that it is tolerable. I do envy you in the summer though.:)

1 pound = 454 grams, 400 grams is just under a pound. Enjoy the meatloaf!

stolaf you are doing great and so is busy4, we are quite the group of very determined woman, and a couple of men, right weyward?

Just made 3 batches of man n cheese to take to some house-bound friends and ghirdelli choc./chocolate chip brownies and some peppermint tea. Wow, the house smells great. Having my wildberry yogurt drink and munching on veggies. The last batch is coming out of the oven in a couple of minutes, then off to shower and deliver the goodies( get them out of here, before I chew my arm off) The sun is shining and hubby is blowing leaves, beautiful day, although quite chilly.

Dana have a great day of celebration with your son and family :)

Hum. The year I was in Chicago/Evanston we got 12 feet of snow then another on top. They were still carrying snow on flatbed rail cars to southern Illinois after Easter -- a late Easter. Also four tornados that school year. It's eerie watching bricks fly by your second floor apartment. That's what keeps me out of Illinois. :D

Wow Linden, you seem to have lived in many places. Are you a teacher? And what are you doing in Germany and how do you like it? What is your favorite place you have ever lived?

shelly ann 11-05-2011 03:17 PM

It's a cold day in Seattle-suburbia. It's not raining though, and it's not as cold as a lot of you have it. Enjoying coffee made with the chocolate drink. The packages have turned me into a huge coffee drinker. Can hardly wait to try Finn's meatloaf recipe. I'm going to use the soy mix as I don't eat meat, but I'll make the other for those that do. I'm so happy that I started reading this forum. It finally got me to buckle down and do the diet by the book. I use to think that I could cheat here and there. That wasn't working well. I'm finally to a place where I am feeling pretty comfortable with it. I'm not ready to be baking cookies or macaroni and cheese though. Don't trust myself that much. I'm learning how to say "no" to those kind of things even though I love to bake for others. I know eating one cookie would throw me off track again. Thanks everyone. Keep the inspiration coming. Have a marvelous weekend.

Sherwood: Checked out your ticker, looks like you've done well since you've been back. WAY TO GO!

Wuv: Sorry about your aunt.

Ok, peepers (haha), I'm back on the ground (home from a week of business travel), ate my special salad with my special salad dressing for lunch today...it was SOOO good. And it wasn't 12 bucks at a restaurant! Gosh I dislike "extra side of broccoli please" and then paying 4 bucks for it. Yah yah, whine whine...lol Still, why does it have to cost so much to eat healthy!

Spent a couple of evenings wandering around the mall. So excited that I am in a 14 and an XL top. I'm lost in some of the stores that I never even thought to go into before. Went into the Gap, didn't see ANYTHING that appealed to me, went into Eddie Bauer, nothing appealed to me there either...it was a little epiphany for me. To go into stores that I always wanted to check out but felt uncomfortable...and then find out I wasn't interested in anything anyway.

So, I'm home and the VIP still has halloween chocolate in his house...so lots of kisses coming his way I'm sure. (That way I get a taste of it...if you didn't see my halloween post).

Have a great weekend everyone! :D

Well, I've been around a long time so I've accumulate more history. ;)

I'm in Berlin because this is where my only immediate family lives: son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter and, within a day or so, grandson. :carrot: I've never found a big city I didn't love, Berlin included. I also have a home in Hawai'i where I was working when I retired. I've enjoyed everywhere I lived (even Chicago) but there are trade offs. Opera, ballet, theatre for lush vegetation, trade winds, and year-round summer. I was a university professor and, for the last 20 years, an administrator. What about you?

I was wondering if you were a teacher too. Ten years ago I had to pick between taking a position in an international school in Germany or the one I did except here in western Canada. The winter in Germany compared to here was hardest part of turning that down. But my immediate family was here so I went with that.
Now a house in Hawaii would make up for a lot of weather ills you may have put up with elsewhere!

I get like that all the time but I eat it anyways because I know I need too!

shelly ann 11-05-2011 07:55 PM

Know what you mean. Never thought that food wouldn't be the first and foremost thing on my mind. Kind of nice. Makes me realize how my son feels most of time. He's so thin. It would be strange not having food as a priority in my life.

Worked this morning while hubby took the kids to the farmers market and the park. Arrived home & took my oldest boy for a haircut! Then home to chop, bag & freeze all the meat & veggies. Before you know it... it is supper time!

I went for my second weigh in today. I was down another 7 lbs! :carrot:

Wuv, sorry to hear about your Aunt. And... amazing profile pic!

It is a quiet weekend! Come on people, start typing! I want to read about your weekend fun when I wake up and have my coffee! :) I, like Wuv spent all day in front of the tv watching football and catching up on shows. It feels good to be lazy, couch and house to myself and I little cuddly dog I am dog-sitting (my God-Dog-ughter) I even took a nap, apparently sitting my tushy on the couch all day is tiring? I should be outside in this great weather, 60s no humidity! Oh well. To those that aren't hungry, you aren't alone. i had to force myself to eat dinner, probably because I at my lunch protein packet so late, I just get so full after veggies at lunch I like to space it all out instead of eat it at once.

So my USF Bulls can't seem to get ahead in their conference. Another devastating loss this week. Ready for this Bucs Saints game tomorrow. I hope it's a good one, just glad it's on TV!!!! How are your teams doing?? I'm still up watching this Bama/LSU OT... Who's gonna be #1 ?

Grew up in Montana and could not wait to get the heck out of here after graduating from high school. I have lived in Ohio, california, Kansas and six years in Alaska. Once my husband and I had 2 daughters while living in Alaska, we moved home to Montana to be closer to family and couldn't be happier with our choice. I am a nurse practitioner. My primary job is as the director of nurses in a small hospital but I frequently moonlight for extra cash as a nurse practitioner in small emergency rooms throughout northeast Montana where I am the sole medical provider for 63 hour shifts. Keeps things interesting. I have been to Hawaii twice but only to the island of Kauai which I loved.

Yay! Geaux Tigers! Wish I was in NOLA right now. :) Love it there. I love the Saints too...But I must say I am a tampa girl born and raised... So tomorrow I am afraid we are on opposite sides (OS) while OP!!! Go Bucs! ;)

Thanks to globalization, regardless of weather, I did exactly the same thing in Germany last night as I would have in Hawai'i -- five hours and 20 minutes (plus intermissions) of Siegfried from the Met, and would have loved to have come home to watch the Alabama/LSU game but I guess Wagner is enough culture (popular or otherwise) for one day. :D It's true, though, northern Germany generally has milder winters than one would expect due to the Atlantic trade winds.

And Determined, I'm still gasping over 63 hour shifts; and the amount you must travel in, here it is again, less than desirable weather.

Good morning all! I should be enjoying an extra hour of sleep since we went off daylight savings time, but my body says get up!! The wind is howling outside right now with a couple inches of snow. I need to go to school to work today and get ready for parent teacher conferences. WE teach the kids during the day and then have their parents come after school for 3 hours Tues. and Wed. for conferences. Makes for a LONG day, but then we get Friday off, 11-11-11!

Have a great day.

Good morning! Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm sick :( Can hardly swallow. Throat is so sore, swollen tonsils with pustules. :( I've gargled with warm salt water this morning and listerine last night. Saw a recipe online for cayenne pepper and warm water gargle. yuck, sounds so awful, but probably will be trying that too. I need to go scope out the medicines at the pharmacy, but don't feel like getting out at all. Miserable!

Being sick didn't keep me from coaching soccer yesterday morning, watching my oldest play 2 games after, or watching the LSU game. I tried to sleep in today, but my achy throat kept me up most of the night. May try to catch a nap at some point today.

Hey, I had my first WI on Friday and I was down 7 lbs. I'm pretty amped :carrot:

Also, just wanted to share a personal victory. I was out at bars last night, and managed to continually inhale the smells of my favorite bar foods, while enjoying a house salad with olive oil. I'm thinking someone's will power dust found me in Scottsdale :D

Isn't it a great feeling? Makes it easier to go out when you don't give in and have that willpower....CONGRATS to you on the WI that is great!!
