Roasted broccoli and left over turkey breast (brined and marinated in buttermilk for 24 hours), chopped and made into a sandwich of Romaine leaves, spread with home made aioli. (Had to do something with all those egg yolks left from Steven's incredibly good recipes.(

:?: Wish I could have Romaine leaves! My coach says "only" if I want to have it as part of my 2 cups of veggies. But romaine isn't even listed with my veggies. I find it so odd that so many of us are getting such different info from coaches for the exact same diet.

And egg yolks, (my favorite part of the egg) my info sheet says 2 whole eggs and it is listed with poultry, so if I understand correctly I can have 2 eggs instead of 8 oz of some other kind of protein. ??? (Or 1 egg and 4 oz of dinner protein.)

BACKDROPsilhouette 01-15-2012 07:27 PM

I had a chicken sandwich with Romaine, with waffles as the bread, and zucchini chips for dinner! The chips weren't as crispy as I wanted, but I didn't feel like waiting on them. Next time I'll put the pan closer to the top of the oven.

No Romaine?? That is crazy. Romaine is one of if not the most healthiest of all lettuce. This shoudl not be part of your veggies. I would ask your coach why. Check with Ideal Protien's main office or email or call them yourself. So many sites are not following IP most recent info or have not been to the newest trainings.

You can have 2-3 whole eggs as your protien. This is as of the most recent training that IP gave per my coach and site director.

that sounds yummy, how did you make it? did you brown the beef and then just throw everything in? what did you use to thicken your sauce? any beef broth? I might try this with the rutabaga some time

"My FAVORITE pickles have HFCS"???? What is that?

Linden 01-16-2012 02:11 AM

I roast a chicken about once a week (give the leg meat to the cat and dog) and roast a big pan or two of vegetables because I hate to waste the energy heating up the oven for every serving. Then I use the chicken bones to make broth for vegetable soup.

Paint Lady 01-16-2012 10:44 AM

HFCS is high fructose corn syrup.

I rolled the beef chunks in a mix of salt, pepper, garlic and basil. Then browned them in a frying pan (sprayed with pam). Put 1 cup of hot water in the slow cooker, added 1 package of single serving reduced sodium beef oxo, browned meat and 2 chopped green onions, additional basil and garlic. I let that simmer for a few hours. I then added only the rutabaga cubed. Let simmer till they were soft and had broken down a little (this is what thickens the stew, if u find it isn't thick enough for you, you can always take 1/3 of them out and blend them up, then re-add them to the stew). Final step was adding the mushrooms and red peppers. I let that simmer till they were cooked. Seems like long process but it's totally worth it if you like this kind of comfort food, which i do, esp during the cold canadian winters.

I made this again last nite (its my fav atm lol) and was dying for some dumplings. I used the crispy cereal and prepared it like you would for pancakes only i added 2/3 tsp of baking powder and only enough water to make a slightly runny dough (thicker then pancake mix but more runny then a bread dough) I also added salt, pepper and dill to the mix. Then dropped it in balls into the stew, put the lid on and in 10mins i had delicious dumplings!! the consistency would also allow you to cover the top of your stew with the dumpling mixture, then bake in the oven, would give you something like a beef pot pie!
