Default What About Exercise?

Just starting IP - reading many of the "stickies" and lots of posts here today. Very little mention of exercising on this program - especially on the 'Newbies.' What's the scoop?

my coach had me doing light to moderate exercise the first 3 weeks and then allowed me to bump it up a bit after that...nothing too strenuous though.
The IP plan provides so little calories (between 700 - 900 per day) that excessive exercise could cause you to start burning off lean muscle mass. There is however an 'athletic' protocol for IP designed for people who are exercising more than moderately.
Some members here have added an extra IP pack to their plans to add more protein and calories to the daily intake, allowing them to exercise more.
I really am a complete lazy a** - that's why this plan suited me so well. (Don't despair for me though, aside from walking the dogs, I now bike and jog more often....getting there slowly!)

Hope this helps

I haven't exercised at all. I usually do step aerobics and no way do I have the energy for that now. I'm 3 weeks in to the program and now I feel I can incorporate some brisk walking

There is an entire exercise thread. I will see if I can bump it up and link it to here also.

You will find lots of great info there!

Thanks, Carla, for suggesting reading the Exercise thread... I'm confident you'll find your answers there, Corrie... yes, I know, it's a long thread, but there is so much good info there for anybody wanting to add or continue exercise... pay particular attention to any posts by Elizabeth (deinekatze)..

hugs
