One is on my own, the other at weigh in with my coach.

I have also taken the scale and put it in the trunk of my car. That works really well. Who wants to weigh themselves fully dressed in a parking lot or your driveay?

Have fun, it's all fun really.

What a great idea! I have tried to "hide" the scale from myself in the past, but I always end up digging it out. One time I even had my mom come over and hide it from me, but I ended up finding it :(

This week I am able to keep myself in check because my in-laws are visiting and I would hate to have them come out of their room to see me standing buck naked on the scale :o But I do believe my scale is going to be spending some serious time in the trunk of my car!

I go crazy if I don't weigh myself everyday. I know that for others it does not work this way, but for me, it does, it keeps me motivated and well informed.

Every day here too. It drives my husband crazy because he thinks it's unhealthy, so I try to sneak on it when he's in the shower. Haha. I keep telling him it doesn't affect my mood or motivation but he is not a fan. I'm guilty of weighing several times a day when I'm home from work too. Not sure if I will ever break the habit!

Every single day, as soon as I get up, before I take a shower, I weigh myself. I find that it keeps me accountable for my actions. I expect to see the ups and downs, but it still helps me to stay on track. The ONLY WI that "officially counts" is my WI day. It is what I live by and what I use in my ticker and so far it has always worked in my favor :o)

I'm with Wuv, I don't even own a scale. So once a week at weigh ins. I think it would be to easy to get obsessed w/weighing yourself if you own a scale and it fluctuates by the times you weigh, if you are retaining water etc. I can see how it would not be healthy. I have friends that weigh at all times of the day everyday and get obsessed if their weight fluctuates. Then they are probably starving themselves to get it as little as possible. Little do they know!

Too often. At first, it was fun because I was losing steadily. For the last 10 days I have just bounced back and forth between 144 and 144.8. I do find it discouraging because i have an expectation of loss, especially if I have been extra good (no slip ups, no restricteds etc.) and then I have some emotional fall out when I don't see what I want.

I am also using a bunch of ketone strips a day right now just waiting and waiting to get back into ketosis. I feel kinda funny and have the cold feeling, so I thought I was in . . . but the strips still show negative. I thought having them would be encouraging but, just like the scale, when I don't see the result I am hoping for I am more discouraged.

Right now, I am trying to fight past no weight loss and no ketosis and stay on the diet (which as everyone knows by now has been a struggle for me). But, realistically, I know there is no way I will stay off the scale . . . just not my nature. Instead, I accept that I fluctuate a lot from day to day and moment to moment and try to just remember the lowest number =)

I weigh myself every morning before I do anything else. It is an addiction for me. I don't usually get too upset though because I know I am still losing inches. I actually bought three pairs of shorts in a size 10 the other day and last week while I was shopping a 10 didn't fit. It is so exciting.

I have a bad habit of weighing myself every single morning. I like to see my weight at it's lightest! I find that I get discouraged when I don't see a loss every day (even though I know it's completely unrealistic), but I just can't break my routine of my daily weight checks.

This is so awesome! Love the GOAL WEIGHT idea, and especially *HEART* storing the scale in the car trunk. I was going to suggest storing it in a cabinet or drawer (out of sight, out of mind) but this is far better!

How often to weigh yourself

I found a great tool in textWeight--its true weight does fluctuate but its the overall trend that counts--actually studies have shown that people who weigh themselves more often tend to lose more weight-- textWeight has a 3 month free trial, they will text you on the days you want to remember to weigh yourself-text your weight back and see it tracked on your personal web page--
some great tips and sharing features as well all keeps you motivated. www.textWeight.com

I used to be obsessed, but i found that if i was losing a lot i would get a little careless, thinking I could eat more, cuz hey the scale was going down, and if i didn't go down i felt frustrated, so now only once a week at ww meeting. It keeps me much better all week, not really knowing where I am holding.

I too get on the scale every day... SOmetimes I go back and step on becuse I was excited what I se.

yma311 08-10-2011 05:14 PM

I do each morning. My scale is different from my IP center but I look forward to it each day. I do know it is wrong and I get upset too when it won't pudge for a day or two...or three. But what a thrill when you see it go down a few in a day.

JackieGee 08-10-2011 05:16 PM

I know I can be addicted to stepping on the scale and then feel bad when I haven't had a loss. Lucky for me, the batteries are dead and I'm not going to replace them.
