  • If you have PCOS you know how hard it is to lose weight and how important it is to eat healthy and to be active. I've been eating low carb/complex carbs/protein/veggies/no sugar now for many years. Now I've been on IP for about 1 week.

I never had a weight problem until I had my first child about 19 years ago when I developed PCOS. Like many other struggling to lose weight for whatever reason, I've tried working out, as well as so many products, medications and weight loss programs - nothing works. I just continue to gain weight throughout the years.

After 1 week on IP I've lost 4 pounds.

Has anyone else had success on IP with PCOS? I'm happy I lost 4 pounds the first week, and hope to continue to lose weight. I guess I'm still somewhat skeptical. I'm praying I lose all the weight I need to on this diet, but after 2 decades with a weight problem, I guess I kind of came to the sad conclusion that I'll always be overweight

So please, if anyone else has PCOS and is on this diet, please share your experience with me..............
  • There's a whole forum under "Dieting with Obstacles" for people with PCOS... it has helped me sooooo much!!!!

OH, thank you SO much! I will check it out.
  • Again thank you so much for the link to the PCOS information. I plan to look a lot more into it and read through it more, but my main concern right now is that nothing has worked before, and I would love to hear from those on IP that have PCOS. I searched through the PCOS information for IP specifically but wasn't able to find anything, unless I did something wrong
  • YES YES YES!!! I, too, have PCOS and have had the best success ever in my dieting world....and, I've dieted lots! Something about this way of eating finally "clicks" with my body and my PCOS. Good luck!!

You did nothing wrong! I'm not on IP but I do have PCOS... maybe if you ask some of the people in that forum they can help more than I can! The other info on there is amazing though! I felt so much better after reading everyone else and how they deal with the same issues that once terrified me!
    Good luck!!
  • I was diagnosed with PCOS at 18- that's 21 years ago now. That was before they even knew what PCOS was, really. All I was told at that time was that I had an increased risk of multiples. (Yeah, right)
I've tried every diet out there except for the premade food ones- Jenny Craig and such. I have never lost weight as quickly or easily as I have on IP.
  • I have it, I was diagnosed about 17 years ago. I've never been an average much less a 'small' person. IP is helping me definately!
  • I do!! I was diagnosed in 2001. My body loves this diet!! I think that anything that is low on the glycemic index is good for us. I also have Hashimotos thyroiditis. I was worried that I wouldn't lose, but I am. My first goal is to be under 200 by the time my husband comes home from Afghanistan on the 11th of July. Its going to be close.
  • I too have pcos I was diagnosed 12 years ago when I wanted to start having children. I have had success with this diet so far. When I have not had a lot of success other places.
  • I was diagnosed with PCOS over six years ago and am having GREAT success on this diet. I have been doing IP for seven weeks and have lost 25 lbs!!!
  • I have PCOS too, and this diet is changing my life!
  • i have PCOS was diagnosed almost 14 years ago. I am loosing weight like no other diet i have ever done. I weighed myself yesterday and I lost 9 lbs in 2 weeks.
  • i was diagnosed when i was 18, (i am 29 now) and i am doing great on this diet. i think it can help you too, but just follow the diet. let it do it's thing. you can lose this weight!!!!
  • I also have PCOS. I started almost 8 months ago and have lost 78.5 pounds so far. Pretty soon I'll be back in the 100s! I admit, though, I could've lost more, but I've been cheating at least once a week the last little while. I think it might be harder to do this diet for me if I didn't, since it's so restrictive.

    Good luck!
