Default Question?

I have just started week 3 of the program. I have felt great most of the time so far but for the last day or two I am getting so tired around 2 in the afternoon. I can nearly stay awake. I am drinking enough water plus taking my supplements, plus forcing myself to eat enough veggs but still I am so tired mid day. Is this just a phase that will eventually pass? Let me know what you think?

I'm starting week 3 too, and am feeling kinda weird, tired but not and in some ways kinda bored. I IP has been so much of my concious thinking since I started that I feel the need for something else to think about. I also don't seem to do as well with my water intake on the weekends. Not quite sure why, I have something by me all the time. I dunno, just feeling in a slump...

I never experienced fatigue as you are describing on any week during diet. I have been on IP for 19 weeks now and my energy level just keeps increasing. Perhaps you should make an appointment with your health care provider.

I started getting that way this week and I'm in my 3rd month. I have taken a surprise nap after lunch for 2 days in a row this week. Could be anything from the weather getting hot to your body adjusting. Have you changed anything as far as what you are eating lately? How are you sleeping at night? Are you on any medications?

I really haven't changed much. I do a lot more yard work than before and my sleep is the same. My doc has been giving me the works in tests and so far so good. Maybe it's just normal fatigue. I am one who could sleep till noon if I were left to it. Thanks for your responses, hopefully I'll feel better soon.

I'm sure it will pass. Doing yard work could be tiring you out more than normal because your diet and how your body uses energy have changed. If things look okay at your doctor visits, I wouldn't worry too much unless it becomes bothersome. I noticed that I had more energy to clean the house, but then I would be so tired. If I don't do anything, then I feel like I'm going to bounce off the walls!

Try going for a little walk early in the day fresh air and oxygen will relieve fatigue and energize you further

I think it is totally normal and common for energy levels to cycle throughout the day, dieting or not. I could give you a dozen theories as to how and why you're NOW feeling this but they would all be guesses. Personally I wouldn't worry about it unless your energy levels continue to go down.

Since I cannot resist guessing I would say that the reginmental nature of the IP diet and your adherence to protocol and allowed your body to find a good rhythm and the afternoon is when you're typically a little less active.

How good is my guess?

When do you have your snack? If it is normally in the evening, try having it around 2:00 as a pick me up... or maybe some herbal tea??

Your very good. I am a morning person. When I am working I don't notice being tired but if I sit still to read or watch tv I can barely stay awake. I am sure this will pass. Thanks everyone.
