This is my recipe, which DOES cover the veggie requirements:

Romaine or iceberg lettuce (as much as you'd like)
1 cup chopped dill pickles
1/2 cup chopped tomato
1/2 cup chopped onion (or sometimes I do half onion half mushroom)
8 oz browned ground beef, turkey or chicken
2 Tbsp WF Thousand Island or Russian dressing (I prefer Russian)

I cant wait to try this, just have to pick up the dressings, cuz I'm sure
its not the same without them, LOL!
THanks!!

I made my own dressing last nite...liked it better than WF TI.
WF Mayo, Mt Olive SF relish, Heinz low carb ketchup

That's how I make it as well.

Sometimes I crave a burger from my favourite local burger joint. Husband orders a double plain burger for me. I chop it up add it with sauce and make this dressing. Very good.

This sounds good now I will have to put in another WF order for the thousand Island dressing! :0) Thanks for the recipe!

It's "what's for dinner" tonight. But I can't swing a cup of pickles. I generally just add 1 small chopped up dill midget. DW loves pickles though so I add extra to hers (she hates dressing so leaves the salad dry).

Had this last night, simply wonderful. Room mate thought I was 'cheating' lol Yea right!

I don't use the dressing either, but do add a little sugar-free ketchup and spicy mustard on top, so good!

After discovering this, a huge salad with meat has become a staple at dinner.

I have 1 c. spinach in my breakfast smoothie
2 c. veggies at lunch so a huge salad & 1 veggies at dinner.

Besides big mac in a bowl
I also have taco salad (more frequently than the big mac, actually)
Pulled pork salad (slow cooked pork tenderloin)
BBQ Beef (or chicken) salad (slow cooked beef roast w/ WF BBQ sauce)
Even a "corned beef" salad using the IP faux corned beef recipe
chicken "wing" salad (chicken breast tenders cooked in wing sauce)
spicy shrimp salad
chicken salad salad (chicken salad over greens)
The list goes on!

Lisa,

Hubby has made the buffalo chicken wing salad like you describe above. Yum! One of my fav flavors is buffalo sauce. With the WF Bleu Cheese...yummmm! He has also made chicken salad and shrimp salad with WF mayo and his own spices to taste. We have done the tacos, too- ground bison, beef, or turkey, sometimes wrapped in lettuce leaves, other times served on chopped romaine, but ALWAYS with other veggies. Delish! I don't miss too many dinner carbs at all!

Renee

Welcome neighbour :) Here you go

* 1/2 pound raw ground beef, about 5 1/2 ounces cooked weight or 153 grams cooked *
* Salt and pepper, to taste
* 1 teaspoon minced dry onions
* 46 grams dill pickle slices or 2 dill spears, chopped, about 1 5/8 ounces
* 2 tablespoons WF Thousand Island Dressing
* 1 1/2 ounces iceberg lettuce, shredded

Brown the ground beef, drain off any fat, season with salt and pepper.. Meanwhile, soak the dry onions in a little water to rehydrate them. Put the meat in a large salad bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Toss and eat at once.

I will be trying this as 1 of my IP week 1 meals. Thanks for sharing!!!! ;);););)

It is SOOOO Good!!

I don't measure the lettuce because you should eat lots anyway so load it up. Just remember that in order to get your two cups of veggies for dinner you may need to supplement with a side of another veggie. At least I do because I can't eat 2 cups of dill pickles and onions! (And the lettuce does not count towards your veggies!)

I also make "Taco Bell in a Bowl" by sautéing my ground beef with garlic, peppers, zucchini and yellow squash (measuring 1 and 2/3 cups) and adding LOTS of spices (cumin, chili, garlic and onion powders, cayenne and a few hearty shots of Chipotle Tabasco (0/0/0). All of that goes over my bed of romaine and a few raw onions and a coupe spoons of store bought salsa (no sugar added).

Oh MAN!!! now I am hungry and it's two hours until dinner!!

Another member does "Reuben in a bowl" using sauerkraut and lean deli ham and WF Thousand Island dressing and a bit of spicy brown mustard. Sounds good to me, too.

I often have Big Mac in a Bowl and love it but am super excited to try the Rueben in a bowl! I LOVE Rueben flavours!

One question - how much deli meat (roughly) makes up 6-8 oz?? I live in Canada so we get it in grams and I don't measure (gasp! - I know, I know). Just looking for a rough estimate...
