Default This just might be over sharing but I have a question...

I'm on day 16 of the diet and I'm experiencing some concerning diarrhea. I've had this since last Friday. I mentioned it to my coach and she said it's probably the toxins being flushed out of my system.

Ok, I'll buy that for a few days but not for almost a week.

Anyone else have this happen?

That didn't happen to me but I hear it's common.

Since over-sharing seems to be the thing on this thread, I found that I rarely need to sit anymore when having any business with the commode. I like the extra free time.

This happened to me and i backed off of the Super D Calcium for a day or two until I got back to normal. Then I increased by a quarter scoop each day and found that 3/4 scoop does me fine. Anything more and I'm back to the same situation as you! LOL. Good luck!

The Cal-Mag can some times do this. Maybe cut back 1 pill to see if it makes a difference.

Some people who are intolerant of soy or artificial sweeteners sometimes can have this reaction too.

For me it was too much magnesium so I cut back the cal-mags.

I hope you feel better soon.

This just happened to me and I'm just now getting over it. Mine lasted a good three days and it was pretty bad. I'm chalking mine up to a stomach flu. I basically cut out any coffee, and most of my veggies for those days and I haven't taken any novi-lax since. I hope it clears up for you!

Well I have something to add to the "might be too much area"

Since the begining of IP my stools have been very soft, even had a bout with the big D. Then I thought it turned around and I thought I was dealing with the big C, but that was not the case. My bowels seem to be very "sluggish" I do not have the big C, but it is 2-3 days before movements and it is a very strange consistency. The problem seems to be worsening.

I talked to my doctor about it and he said that on IP, we are not consuming all that many solids and our bowels do not have much to "push" against thus the "sluggish" feeling. He told me to suppliment Miralax for a few days and see if that helps, but I am afraid that is just going to cause severe D. I am sure this is much more than you all wanted to know, but thought I would share and see what anyone else thought.

Right there with you folks. Have not had a solid stool since beginning IP. This includes all the times I have begun IP (on again off again). it seems fine for the first day or so then no more solid. When I was with a coach she told me not to worry to much about it since we are drinking enough water to hydrate and it has been my experience that it does clear up once no longer OP.

I have found the complete opposite. I find since I have added the olive oil that my movements are extremely loose and very frequent.

Thanks for sharing this! I have been having problems with diarrhea off and on since I started IP 9 weeks ago. Didn't even occur to me that it might be the Cal/Mag. I had gone down to 3 a day because I was running out but upped it to 4 a day this last week because I will be getting a new supply on Friday. Sure enough that's when I started having problems again.

I have the opposite problem since starting IP. I was very regular and now, I freek out because I don't go enough!! I have a friend who started IP about a month ago and she is having the same problems. I've tried a herbal tablet called Cleanse More, Flax and now I am also using Benefibre.
I know our bodies are absorbing most of the packets, but I just don't feel "right" if I don't go everyday!!
This is my only complaint about this diet, otherwise, I love it!

I just wanted say that from Day1, my coach has had me taking 'floralax' along with the other supplements (2 with evening snack) and I have had no problems (except the day I ate the veggie chili....never again haha). It isn't a laxative that you become dependent on, but helps with movements on this diet. It might be something to ask your own coaches about if you're having problems....good luck!

This is all really, really helpful! I didn't think it might be the Cal/Mag but I'm going to cut back to see if it helps. Since I only do 1 cup of coffee in the morning and I so need that to jump start my day, I'm going to hold of on cutting that out unless I absolutely have to.

For all of you having the opposite problem, I feel for you! Hopefully your coaches have suggestions that will work and/or looking on here you can probably find something.

Thank you to everyone for your suggestions!

I too have had the same problem since starting IP--no solid days for me. In the beginning, my coach said it's probably because mybody is detoxing, but it's been 2 months now?! At least it's better than the other way.

Wow, 2 months of the big D, kinda scary. You might want to consult a Doctor about it. Are you drinking all your water and getting your salt in? Dehydration is no fun so be careful.

Just a personal side note, my big D seems to have subsided somewhat. That's a relief! But does anyone else get a gurgly stomach? I seem to have one after my noon meal. I eat the veggies, salad and usually soup and about 1/2 hour later, it seems like my entire gut is gurgling! And whoa, it's loud! My husband thinks it's funny and I do too..mostly. But it can be embarrassing when in public.
