Default Sea Salt...IP Diet!!!!!!

Ok so I forgot to get my salt from my IP office. So I went to grocery store and they don't have unbleached sea salt. Does it make a difference????

Please any advice...

Bleached salt is not healthy, as it contains chemicals. As well, you should look for unrefined sea salt, because it contains minerals. You wont find these in grocery stores. Only in health food stores, or online. I bought a big bag of unrefined sea salt, to save money (money IP office only sells small bottles).

Hope this helps!

One of my local grocery stores actually sells the "Real Salt" brand in a variety of sizes - same thing as from IP, only cheaper.

Dont think they would sell it. You need to find a health food store that sells foods as well, not just supplements like GNC.

The Vitamin Shoppe has some good sea salt. It's possible GNC might as well. Give them a call and check it out.

I found Sea Salt in the Shaker bottle with the spices. They also have the grinder shakers. I just checked the label and it didn't say anything about Himalayan pink. I think it's the real stuff. They just repackage stuff so they can sell in bulk cheaper.

Hi I found RealSalt at Stop & Shop, it was in the same area as salt/pepper/spices, along with other varieties of sea salts.

Thanks for asking the question Reema. I've just run out of mine and was wondering too if I could just go the store cause it's cheaper.

Can anyone tell me why we need the sea salt?

Thanks!!

Hi Sugadiva,

I'm also from Calgary, so thought I'd let you know that Blush Lane (SW, in Aspen) sells the same Redmond Real Salt for ~$12/lb (I'm sure there are other markets as well though). I'm going to go by there myself this weekend to pick some up.

My understanding was that the salt is important for maintaining your electrolytes and blood pressure...best to ask your coach though, since I'm no expert.

Have a great weekend everyone!

We need sea salt because the diet is fairly low sodium and we need the right balance of electrolytes for blood pressure... meowmisan is right.
i had asked my coach this question the first week as it seemed strange to me. i read the soup nutrition list and assumed all the foods had similar sodium. apparently they don't.
