I also remember seeing some your names from when I first started!! Nice to meet you guys!
lesley- i so agree. life gets in the way of smart choices. ticks me off but it happens. i figure if i can ride the rail 80% of the time that is maintenance for me. but of course my math is never quite right!!! lol!

I really enjoy this thread.. It's nice to see all of the seasoned people who I have learned so much from these past 10 weeks or so..
I am recommitting tonight ( after an unplanned little cheat) Like someone just said...
Failing to plan, is planning to fail or something like that. So true . I need to really not get relaxed about this or I'm going to gain it all back in maintenance.
Thanks everyone , I learn so much. I am enjoying this journey and I know one night of a cheat is not going to make me gain 35 lbs back, but I'm just mad that I let myself mentally give up for a few seconds of wonderfulness. Tomorrows a new day!!
momofive- it causes me alot of anxiety as well, but i do feel myself relaxing and that needs to get put in check! do i eat something just once or not, and what if i gain it back kind of thing all the time. as far as a few seconds of wonderful, not me- i'm going to get a buzz and keep it all evening, heck with a few seconds of fun before i swallow the food. i'd rather have a drink than food. sick isn't it? i am struggling with this hole my dad left in my heart, but i know food and drink won't fill it. i just want a mini mental break somedays.... it'll get better, tho. i just have to tuff it out!

I have to say I see the benefit of being over here in "old fogies" land where we don't have to read the same newbie questions over and over... though I don't mind answering them from time to time. Now I am so behind on everyone's progress and will take a while to catch up... kind of feels like the first day back to school after summer. But so glad to have found you all again! BTW... Officially lost over 50 pounds now! And NSV... went shopping Friday expecting to buy some size 24 stuff and walked out with 22's!!! Couldn't believe it! So exciting! Can't wait to see what is under the rest of the "layers". Anyway... not to go on and on... but seriously... so glad to see you all again! Jen
mirror- i know! the daily chat thread is not my fave any more! i told colorado dive girl it was just too much of the same ole same ole. and on this thread i don't have to white out when i want to say things like
i drank beer, or ate pizza! which i didn't.....
eat the pizza at least, but ya, i did drink the beer! lol congrats on your 50!

Please start phasing off my love. Your body has had enough. Less of everything will slow your metabolism down to a halt. Anyone disagree with me feel free to chime in, but I've seen this more than a handful of times. Time for food. I promise you the rest of your weight will come off. This is truly a matter of more will equal less.
Do phase II right away, so you can get to ph. III and start having the larger breakfasts.
I lost my last 7 lbs AFTER I left ph.1. I've lost most of it in 3 and believe it or not, I lost surprise weight in phase 4.
Gals and Guys, please chime in here! Good luck and keep in touch please.
my common sense tells me that the body adapts so easily that we have to throw it a curve ball to keep things confused. staying on a strict schedule has it's benefits, like personal control, but then again, your body knows exactly what to expect and it is going to save itself from your madness! i've read alot about interval eating where you cycle low to high days to keep the metabolism from adjusting. and my experience is after having a cheat or two is i stayed the same weight then lost a couple. different for everyone, but if nothing else works i'd try adding a higher intake day at random intervals.

wouldn't you guys think the extra protein, especially if your product has a good amino acid profile would promote healing? i would certainly supplement with a quality whey product even if i upped my calories.

My question is...Does this diet have an end? I read a few ppl say that they are going off plan, etc. and a few others that say they are in maintenance, but sounds like they are still spending the money and such to keep up the high protein.
So, if I were to choose to do the IP plan, and I get to my goal weight, do I ever get to go back to a more average diet? Or to maintain do you continue eating the same Protien with Minimal carbs?
my life maintenance plan is low carb most of the month with my protein breakfast drink (nectar by syntrax which is only about a buck a serving) a mostly meat lunch and meat and veggie supper. 1 or 2 times a month i expect to let myself have a more carbohydrate type meal or some social drinking. we'll see how it works out..... it seems similar to what darbs and some others seem to be doing and maintaining just fine.
