  • Good morning all! Happy to say that i have stuck to protocol 100% this week and have dropped 4.84 lbs already!! I have my bridal shower tomorrow so I was a bit worried about being strong enough to stay away from all the food, but I pick up my dress tonight, so PERFECT motivation. I will go with my chocolate soy puffs and be prepared! Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

So glad I can come here to help keep me on track!!
  • Quote: ginbam- Jamaica! woo hoo! are you taking a two piece or one? my legs are as ugly as my stomach, if only the 30's swimsuit would come back in style!
I will be bringing both, I have found a few stores that carry bikini's that have enough front side coverage. My legs tend to look a little saggy, but I am hoping that will shrink up in time. (excess skin, just seems to hang around) My legs do look so much better then last summer so I just have to remember that, or else I will be wearing pants all summer long.

  • Almost 12 weeks
I'll be in 12 weeks on Tuesday and I've been waiting to join this thread!
I've lost 40 lbs. by my scale so far. We'll see on Tues, how accurate it is. The scales have both been pretty consistent thoughout.
Thanks for having this thread! It seems there are fewer issues here now that we know what we are doing!

Thanks Ginger, I am so committed. I don't know how much longer it will take me to reach my goal, but I'll definately be sticking with it till the end and beyond. I'm afraid to cheat, too afraid that I'll gain the weight back.
  • Quote: hi everyone- glad to see all the effort and dedication. it's hard, isn't it? life happens, fun things, sad things. i had a 2 week lapse. some serious emotional turmoil (dad died) (sad tears) lead to some of mom's home cooking and 2 nights with my good friend Bud.... of course the rest of the time was only coffee and dt. mt dew. i couldn't eat my tum was too upset. i am back in the saddle and going to see about this last few pounds. i was surprised at my scale tho, i am same as before. (151) it had been several days since the beers, so maybe that water weight flushed. trying to get off the dt. pop and back to the water and throw my veggies back in. we can do this!
Hi, having lost both of my parents already, I wish you peace and comfort in this time of loss. May your memories bring you comfort in the years to come. God bless, Carol
  • Quote: First of all congratulations on your 50 lbs that is fantastic. I to am proud of you for sticking with it....always remember this is for you and if you can get thru this without chating or quiting...HOLLY SMOKES you can do ANYTHING!!!How empowering this will be for you.

I only live about half an hour from Port Orchard, If you need an IP buddy I would be happy to be that person. We could even get together for IP lunch and 2nd hand shopping for new smaller clothes
Thank you! I would love to get together sometime. PM me with your Phone# or email if you want, and we can set it up.
  • Morning everyone. Back on plan. Have a super day
  • Plateau help?
    Hey everyone!

I'm definitely what you would call 'experienced' with IP, I've been at this for nearly a year, and I've lost 83 pounds to date. (I'm 5'4", I started at 231, and I'm now down to 148.) I have 7 pounds to go before I hit my goal of 90 pounds at 141, and I'm hitting plateau after plateau.

The last 15 or so pounds has been harder than the 40 or so before it, and has taken about the same amount of time. I did a 'reset' in late February where I went off the diet for 4 days (on my doc/IP councilor's advice) and that helped for a while. But now I'm right back where I was before - the last three weeks I have lost basically nothing.

I am sticking to the plan more strictly than I ever did before. I cut out all the 'twice-a-week' veggies and am now only having the preferred veggies. I measure my teaspoons of oil, and keep track of when I can put them on my salads and when I have to use just vinegar. I cook nearly everything I put in my body myself, so I know what's going in it.

This week, I'm trying one last push. I cut out all the restricted foods, and I'm only having the premixed shakes, veggies, and protein. I'm even cutting out the ounce of milk from my coffee. If this doesn't do it, I will probably do another reset and go off the diet over the weekend.

I have less than three weeks to go to my one-year mark. (With the exception of the four days I did the intentional reset, I have been in Phase One for a year, as of May 8.) I'm not sure how much resolve I have left in me to keep going on this, let alone push harder. It's easy when the scale is moving, but when it stops dead like this, it's really hard to keep going.

So, I guess I'm looking for help and advice from dieters in the end game. Have you lost everything you wanted to lose? Did it get insanely hard at the end? What did you do to break through your plateaus?

Any advice and encouragement you can send would be very, very appreciated.
  • Anyone here one phase 3? Question for you...
I just want to make absolute sure that those general guidelines that IP gives you for phase 3 are just for the new and different breakfast portion. (ie 50 grams CHO, 15 gram FAT). For example, I can still have a restricted bar, my oil on salad, and the small amount of fat in meat and NOT have to count those as part of my 15 grams. Is that correct?
    Thanks!
  • My long lost friends!!!
There you all are!!! I seriously almost stopped reading/posting because I couldn't figure out why there were only newbies on the boards!!! I guess I thought this was just for "struggling" and didn't think of you guys that way! Imagine my JOY when I clicked her this morning out of struggling with the site (not the diet!) and found my long lost buddies!!! So excited!!! I have to say I see the benefit of being over here in "old fogies" land where we don't have to read the same newbie questions over and over... though I don't mind answering them from time to time. Now I am so behind on everyone's progress and will take a while to catch up... kind of feels like the first day back to school after summer. But so glad to have found you all again! BTW... Officially lost over 50 pounds now! And NSV... went shopping Friday expecting to buy some size 24 stuff and walked out with 22's!!! Couldn't believe it! So exciting! Can't wait to see what is under the rest of the "layers". Anyway... not to go on and on... but seriously... so glad to see you all again! Jen

My, my, my....YOU NEED TO EAT!!!!!
Please start phasing off my love. Your body has had enough. Less of everything will slow your metabolism down to a halt. Anyone disagree with me feel free to chime in, but I've seen this more than a handful of times. Time for food. I promise you the rest of your weight will come off. This is truly a matter of more will equal less.
Do phase II right away, so you can get to ph. III and start having the larger breakfasts.
I lost my last 7 lbs AFTER I left ph.1. I've lost most of it in 3 and believe it or not, I lost surprise weight in phase 4.
Gals and Guys, please chime in here! Good luck and keep in touch please.
