Default Weigh-in concern...

On my first weigh-in I lost 8 pounds, which was wonderful of course even though I know that a good portion of that was water weight that was lost.

My second weigh-in which was a few days ago was a whopping 3 pounds and I honestly expected more than that. I know that no one's body is the same, but my friend lost 7 pounds her second week.

I've been faithful to IP diet instructions with no cheats or screwups of any sort.

Has anyone had this experience? I'm just worried that for all of my hard work that I'm not going to have the success I hoped for.

YES! Everyone has experienced it and you are by far higher than MANY people for second week losses.

The first week is generally very high because you are losing fluids. The second week some people have less fluid to lose or are in a type of shock from starting to adjust to ketosis.

Losing 3 pounds your second week is not just great it is well above the norm for many people.

Your friend may have had a lower week 1 weigh in, she may weigh more than you to begin with, OR she may hold even more fluid than your body does and she is still releasing it.

DO NOT judge your success on this diet based on another persons performance. Men lose faster, people heavier than us lose faster, people with more allergies may lose faster, etc. There are many reasons this diet becomes a very individual process. ONLY decide your success based on your inputs and outputs.

YOU ARE DOING GREAT!!

WHEW! Okay, that is a complete relief! My friend has about twice as much as I have to lose, so maybe that plays into it as well as any of the other factors you'd mentioned.

Default Average weight loss

kellibelli -

I lost 9 lbs my first week, and then only 3 the second and 4 the 3rd week, and a disappointing 2 the 4th week (it was also my TOM, so that probably explains part of that). However, this week I have already lost 4 lbs (I work for my coach occasionally and while I was there Friday I did a mid-week weigh in and had dropped the 4 lbs in 4 days). I am hoping to have dropped a couple more this weekend, as I had some above normal activity yesterday. If I dropped at least 3 over the weekend, I will have hit the -25 mark, an average of 5 per week. If not, it's STILL more than I've ever lost in such a short time! Regardless, don't get discouraged! You are unique, and your body will undoubtedly vary week by week, as does everyone's. Keep at it, one day at a time!!

Wow, that's great! I just started the program on Tuesday and hoping to get good results on my first weigh in tomorrow. I have a lot to lose. I am a litle concerned because I have had difficulty eliminating. I think it is probably because at my weight loss center, the counselor sold me on a bunch of enzymes, stating that they work well. I have been taking one with each meal. I think all of the plants in the enzymes along with the 4 cups of vegs are not working well with my system. Any suggestions??

Alas, I'm having that problem too. I had a full dose of mag citrate this morning and was able to make a bit of progress, but I still don't feel quite right in that department. I hate it.
