  • Good Morning everyone. Today is Day 15 - still no ketosis - and am ready to chew off my hand. LOL But the good news is down 6.4 lbs in total. Have to visit the grocery store and stock up - weather permitting - another snow day in the Maritimes and school is cancelled again... How come we never day snow days when we were in school? Everyone enjoy their Tuesday...
  • From yesterday......

Quote: Quick request on behalf of people who get cravings from reading about off-plan foods

If you want to share about what you ate when you went off plan, it would be really helpful if you either
    • posted in the Oops thread, or
    • "hid" the off-protocol foods by changing the font color to white by using the advanced editing tools,
If you use the white font, your post will have blank spaces in it like this -- mmmm, hidden text, so yummy -- that people can see if they hold and drag their mouse over it
If you're new and you posted details about going off plan, don't worry about it. We know you're new. It's okay, just don't do it again!
Quote: Maybe you missed the first line of her post - there are people whose cravings are triggered by just reading about the bad foods. Holly wasn't harping on anyone - she knows that there are a lot of new people. It was just an "in the future" kind of thing. Reading about bad foods can be detrimental to some people and it's why there is an Oops thread, where that stuff is okay to talk about. If someone turns the font color white, then the reader is making a decision to highlight and look at it - then they are responsible for how they react to it.

This forum is important to a lot of people, myself included. For many, this forum is the reason why they have succeeded in their weight loss journey, especially when there is ineffective coaching. Perhaps that's why we get defensive about how things are run.

It might seem like the "post this here" has come up a lot recently, but there has been a huge influx of new people in the last 2 months that may not be as acquainted with how things have been happening here. It's okay.
Quote: You are a much better writer than me. My thoughts are below.

I guess I am a senior member since I have been on this diet for 18 weeks . . .

I can see your point of view Juiceman and I can see Svelting point of view. Most people that post on the daily thread are beginners to IP and don't need to be reminded of off protocol foods since they are (probably) constantly thinking about what they can or can't eat. What are you encouraging people to eat when you post what you have eaten off plan? Hence, the off protocol thread was created to post what you have eaten that those on plan should not.
Quote: I have been on this diet since October 2010, and have been very successful at it. I would not have been so successful without 3FCs, and this forum would not be successful without senior members who help guide us through the many threads. I have also read just about every IP thread, except for the OPPS thread. I am glad it is there for those who need it; I am just as glad I don't have to read about the cheats. That is difficult for me, and I am guessing, for others as well.
I can see the issue, but to me I still find it hard to believe a single word could cause someone to fall off the protocol wagon. If this is the case, then driving in your car or watching tv or even surfing the web would pose difficult since these "words" or pictures are all around us.

Sorry if I upset the group.....I just think there have been times some members are a bit harsh on newbies. The diet is difficult enough for some and then to have to add more difficulty to these people by jumping on them for posting something in the wrong place, wrong color...etc is a bit harsh.

Just wanted to express my feelings and stick up for the newbies, we were all once newbies and are going through this journey together. I will not speak on this topic anymore. I just hope that the senior memebers will be more of a guidance and helpers than "rulers" of the 3FC's forum.

Have a great day all and have a 100% protocol day.

You can do it! We are all here to support each other. Take it one day at a time and use last week as a learning experience and let it go. You and we can do this.

Here is to a wonderful week! Keep your head up!

Every day is a new day to start over! I was telling a friend yesterday that sometimes I have to start over several times a day just to get it right! We're routing for you and know you can do it! Hang tough! Holler if you need anything...we'll be here for you!
  • Good morning. starting my day with migraine. had to cancel my dentist appt.. beginning day 1 again..Going to go order THE DRESS this morning for son's wedding beginning of July. I have no idea what size to order. Maybe 1 size down of what I am to be safe? I'll talk to the owner and seamstress.
The bridal shower is april 17th, I am hosting, I bought 2 tops I need to shrink to fit into..I am making the individual table decorations ( at every place setting) and those will be their favors..I'll take pics.. and yes, I am making the desert table too, that won't be a problem..
  • Just so you know you're not alone in how you feel, juiceman, will give my 2-cents worth which would be live and let live! It's an OPEN forum. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone is free to ignore those "mistakes". The "ruling" makes me and I'm sure others a bit more apprehensive about posting or asking anything, IMO. Have an awesome day!!

    I agree
  • From yesterday and today! Sorry for the length...
Quote: hi friends! i'm back from the out of town wedding. there was soooo much temptation around me the whole time, and i must say that i surprised myself. i still cant believe i have been on this program for 21 days. that is a record for me. i read through all of your posts today. wish i had time to respond to them all, but just wanted to say that you guys keep me going! i had a wi today, and my coach rushed through it, didnt even measure me, sold me $100 worth of products and ushered me out the door. i'm really starting to consider doing this program without a clinic.
Hey, I'm wondering if we have the same freaking coach...the secretary at the office does my weigh-in, sells me the food, and records my info. I absolutely insist on being measured by my coach because hers are off! I have to agree...sometimes it feels like a crapshoot on support. I haven't seen the actual coach since my sign-up date, but have seen his business partner, who seems to know what he's talking about and is super nice...but can't answer all my questions. Le Sigh.

Quote: Jolie I answered your question about the weights on my progress photo thread. :-)
    Thank you, my friend!

Quote: I know I'm hardly on these days but just wanted to check in for this week's WI with a loss of 2 lbs which takes me to 31!! Yeah!! Averaging 2 lbs a week for the last 3 weeks with no deviations off program. I am happy with the loss.
Have a great IP week all.
That's fantastic! I love the way you're losing steadily. Keep it up!

Quote: Regardless of his weight, it certainly wouldn't hurt him to have more of the healthy food and less of the packaged processed "food-like" products mention. Is that an option -- more substantial nourishing food for dinner and he has the junk stuff when he's out?
I found this absolutely hilarious...read it as I was shaking up my little silver "packaged processed 'food-like' product," HA! Thanks for the laugh, and it's a good thing I wasn't drinking my coffee or it'd have been all over the monitor.

Quote: That is a great suggestion. What I have been doing is cooking the meat for dinner without the breading or grease that he likes. That way it works for me. I will set out a salad bar with all of the vegies and a steamed vegie. After 20+ years of marriage, I can tell you my hubby is not a vegie eater. Plane Jane mid-west meat and potato guy. Would it be bad of me to cook what I can eat and let him know in a nice way that this how it is? I am not trying to sound harsh, but he would be just as happy eating a PB sandwich!
Eh. After 20+ years of marriage, you can be harsh! Haha, kidding. Sort of. He should understand that you're cooking, it's healthy, and as a grown man he can either eat it or fix himself something else. (Maybe this is one reason I'm going through a divorce??? Lol.)

Elissa! Welcome back, girlie! I've missed you. You can do this! Suck it up, princess, and jump back in feet first!

Some people are still hungry in ketosis. You've already tried the old "add a packet, eat an egg white" thing, haven't you? Sorry. I wonder how much protein is in a hand...can't have many carbs! Ha. And ew.

LOVE this...sometimes I have to start over a few times a day. So simple. So brilliant. Thanks!

You are going to rock this WHOLE wedding! The bride may actually be mad at all the attention you steal. We have faith in you...make sure you do, too. Go for two sizes! Seriously...Mrs. D has been doing this for a little over 4 months and look at her progress! Check out all the "oldies" (if we're newbies, which I don't feel like I am anymore, lol, maybe middle-aged) and their progress pics, then see when they started. It helps me!
  • Oh, and thanks guys for all the nice comments on the progress photos yesterday! Svelting...so you know, I'm not stuck-up enough to give myself that nickname! My Cajun French Paw Paw (grandfather) helped name me when I was born, and I've always been called jolie blonde.

Another snow day!! So lucky! I am from Cape Breton, but I live in Manitoba now. My family still lives in CB and I envy all the snow days...I am teacher and we don't have nearly as many snow days!!

Down 6.4 lbs is great! I am on my 7th week and I still get hungry! I feel hungry right now, I need to drink some water. Don't get discouraged, it gets better!

    Jolie,
I'd love to see your pics, but they won't load on my laptop or on my desktop. I love progress pics, they are such an inspiration!! I'll keep trying!
  • Good Morning All! Today is a new day - and I am back to work for the week - blah. Ever have one of those days where you just want to rip someone's head off for no reason? lol. Well today it is my coach/clinic. I feel like I am having the same experience as Cajunbumblebee and Joliebug - no support - no customer service - gosh if it weren't for this post - I don't think I would have any support!

Thanks guys for all of your words of wisdom!
