  • Which one is best? Are they both IP friendly for Phase 1?
  • Both have 0/0/0 options in sugar-free, so yes, IP friendly. Watch that you don't go over the recommended serving size. If something as <.5 carbs per serving, it can be labeled as 0 carbs. If you used 2 servings, it may add up to almost a carb, but that's not likely to affect you unless you're just straight up drinking it from the bottle!

I haven't noticed a taste difference at all!
  • I think their quality is very comparable, but I found an even better (and cheaper) alternative.

I buy extracts and flavored oils (such as LorAnn Gourmet flavored oils, most commonly used in candymaking), and use my own sweetener.

The candymaking oils are so concentrated that dipping a toothpick into the oil is enough to flavor a 12 to 16 ounce beverage (if it's not enough, I dip the clean side of the toothpick in and stir again).

For the extracts a few drops or an 1/8 tsp usually works well.

    I have

Extracts (mostly McCormick, most cost me about $3 per bottle)

almond, vanilla, rootbeer, imitation cherry, orange, lemon, mint

LorAnn oils (I paid $1.49 in a baking supply store, I believe they're about $2.50 at Michael's craft store in their baking/candymaking supply area)

    tangerine
    lime
    pistacchio

(there are tons available - key lime, white chocolate, chocolate, almond, almaretto, cherry, rasbberry, blackberry, pomegranate, anise, cinnamon, wintergreen, peppermint, orange, tangerine, banana.....)
  • Also Da Vinci sells a plain splenda syrup that you could use with concentrates
  • where do you buy these from? i have never heard of them. thank
  • I got mine off of amazon. TJ Maxx and Marshalls sometimes carry sugar free torani or da vinci syrups - so look there also. Most coffee houses have these and they might sell you some.
  • I got the Torani at my local Wal-Mart.
  • Unfortunately Walmart only (usually) carries two flavors - vanilla & raspberry.

I ordered gingerbread and plain Splenda Da Vinci from amazon. Heck if you check out their website they now have a chai tea Splenda syrup. All Splenda flavors are 0 carbs 0 calories.

You could try one of your local espresso stands (not Starbucks, but a more locally owned one) and if they have Torani or DaVinci syrups, ask them where they get theres from. There is a chain out here called "Cash & Carry" and they are sort of a restaurant supply store that anyone can shop at and I swear, it has every SF flavor of syrup ever made for $3 a bottle. One of the companies makes SF Brown Sugar & Cinnamon syrup. I thought that would be yummy in the oatmeal...
  • Thankfully, our Wal-Mart in the small town I live in carries chocolate, hazelnut, vanilla, and caramel. Really enjoying the caramel!
  • I just got the chocolate and caramel from my walmart! So yummy in my tea.

I checked my Wally World and I can't seem to find them. What section do you find them in or near? I asked, but the one worker had no idea what I was talking about.
  • i as well just went to walmart and couldn't find them. ;(
  • I think they are in the coffee aisle.
  • I found them in the coffee aisle as well on the bottom shelf. Maybe tell the manager you want them to start carrying it!
