Please find a reputable clinic and report your coach and the clinic, maybe they will lose their license from IP if that is their practice. Sounds like they want a 100% sucess rate. Not a good feeling, this program works and no one should be treated like that. |
Where are you located, US or Canada?

I seriously would report your coach. She is an idiot. You lost a lot of weight in short period of time and that a great accomplishment, so don't let your coach destroy your state of mind. I am on IP and it took me 3 months to lose 20 lbs. KEEP WITH THE IP PROGRAM! You should be proud of yourself.

I stopped going to the weigh in center. I felt like nobody really cared too much. They never looked at my food diary. I saw a different person every time. I just weigh in a home now. But there is another clinic next to me I might try. I like the support of it but I get that from this board.

I think you should find a new coach. I will however say that this is actually a message that has been sent to those being trained in IP. My coach sent me a similar message the weekend before Thanksgiving. Basically that they had their training and there is a no cheating policy and that he has the authority to kick people out of the program if they cheat because they want people to be representing the program well. They had this meeting because someone on a message board (AKA I'm sure it was the 3chicks boards) was talking trash about IP about not getting results but weren't sticking 100% to protocal. I think many of your coaches probably have heard similiar types of messages from Corporate but aren't stupid enough to actually think it's appropriate or even reasonable to tell their clients.
Find a new coach who actually understands it's not a given 3-5 pounds. My coach was really into why I would only lose 2.4 pounds one week. He was a pretty good coach but I just didn't like the money driven aspect of IP and essentially stopped going in January. I do think it's a great program worth getting as far as you can with weightloss. But they also need to realize there are other great programs that also have a lot of succesfull research on the insulin issue. Protein Power, Why we get Fat, Primal Blueprint, Paleolithic. Essentially they all have slightly different values but it all boils down to the same thing with varying views on the role of fat in our food. |
As an IP coach I'm furious!! We are trained and taught that women will lose little to no weight during their period. Menstruation conceals weight loss because the body retains more water at that time of the month to protect the reproductive organs. As soon as the menstrual cycle is over, women will notice continued weight loss again.
I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I'd call and ask to talk whoever runs the office (a doctor maybe?). Explain what happened and that you know for a fact most women do not loss weight during that time of the month. (The only time I have ever had a women loss over 3 pounds will on her period was in her very first week on IP!) Perhaps the coach was completely mistaken and misunderstood something during training? I hope you're able to get everything sorted out. If you need to, find another clinic in your area that offers IP. This program is too life changing to deny yourself of it just because your coach is an idiot. GL! |
Coach horror stories
I know I keep complaining about my clinic, I apologize for that, but I really feel like I need to vent, and If I vented to my husband/friends, they would just encourage me to stop the program. So
I'll try to be brief, here's my story so far with IP coaches: Consultation: Physician, the kind who wants to get you out of the office ASAP gave me the briefest description of the program- I had done my research so, I didn't mind too much. Now that I'm a few weeks into the program I wish she'd mentioned many other things. 1st coach: Only spoke to her on the phone, she wasn't there for the first meeting. I found out later that she is no longer a coach because she was essentially a bad coach, not keeping any records of anything, not ordering the food on time, etc. etc. 2nd "fill in" coach: Such a sweetheart! She's doing the program, so has some experience, she did mention "the program is hard, so you have to do whatever keeps you on track, like I have a piece of chocolate every day to keep me sane, also I substitute the vegetables with a little bit of brown rice" sigh- 3rd coach: She seemed really uncomfortable and scared, so I asked her if she was on the diet, she said no, then I asked what kind of training is required to become a coach, she pointed at a packet on her desk, and said "well we have to read this" the package seemed like the one that we get when we signed up, then she added "I'm also going to be learning from clients as I go along" . When my "C" problem arose, she said, well it says here to take magnesium citrate, other than that I don't know what to tell you. Next week I decided to go to the first clinic where there is a physician, she suggested I take the whole bottle of magnesium citrate, and that worked. So I made an appt there for the next week, because I wanted to follow up on my problem, in case it wasn't solved, etc. Well, she didn't show up to the clinic. So I saw someone else there. 4th coach: Again, really sweet person. She's on the program and proceeds to tell me she had a really bad week, she cheated, and the program is proving to be too restrictive for her and she's planning on quitting altogether". Well, thanks for that. I wasn't too hopeful for an answer from her, but still I told her about my period not being here yet, and she just said it was normal, it happens, but couldn't give me an explanation. Also I asked if they sell Novi-Lax and they don't. I called IP and they told me I would need to call the director of the program in this state to find out why they don't sell it. Ok, so I did call IP to find out if there are other clinics, but there is only ONE other one in my area, and it's the same kind -can't tell for sure if the people will be better, but since it's also an urgent care clinic, I feel like it will be the same. I looked into ideal to go (I browsed this forum) and it appears that they will only let you switch from a clinic to ideal to go if your current coach agrees to it, and the coach will get or split the comision from the products you purchase. umm, no thanks. Anyway, so I'm staying put -as it seems I don't have many choices. I can ignore their wrong advice, their negativity and lack of care. ... I just might need to vent once in a while.. not too often, I promise! Ok, so just typing this up makes me feel a little better. If you guys have other coach horror stories, feel free to post. It does help to get it out! |

Sorry you have to deal with all the crap when you are committing yourself to being health. Love my coach but he tends to be a little ditzy. Your numbers are amazing considering the additional stress!:carrot: |
Love my coach.

I'm doing this with alternatives and all I can see is WOW! The place you go to is unprofessional. Have you thought about doing it on your own?
|
I agree with Luckygirl3. Do you think you need a coach? They are not very supportive. It sounds like a nightmare!

luckygirl and Watkat - I did think of just doing it on my own, through ideal to go, but I cannot fathom the idea of having my clinic receive a comission, so I'll just take advantage of the fact that they can sell individual products, and I just will ignore the rest.
As far as alternatives, I don't feel ready to go that route yet. I know that people have success with them and I highly commend everyone doing it -it takes serious research and dedication too, but I do like the IP products and for now I think it'd be best for me to stick with them. Thanks everyone for allowing me this space to vent :) I love this site. |
