Can we use tomato sauce as an occasional veggie? I looked at a can that listed 1-2 grams sugar. I didn't know if that occurred naturally with tomatoes or was added to the product.

I know there are a few of us living in the Lynnwood and Everett area, so I wanted to share this location:

Smart Eats
Mill Creek Towne Center
15224 Main Street Suite 100
www.smarteatsusa.com

I'm not affiliated in any way, just a consumer who finally located the store and went in to check it out last night. They carry pretty much every WF brand made, including the newest ones, and their prices are quite competitive (at least 50 cents cheaper per item than any other place I've found so far). The owner had even heard of IP and we talked for a little bit about it. I know I'm going to start shopping there and support a local small business, so I thought I'd pass this along for others who might want to check it out for themselves.

Hey thanks for the tip. Is that across from Boston's? I think I've seen that place when I was trying to figure out what I was going to do about dropping this weight. Do you ever go to Hot Iron Grill (Mongolian Grill) down there? If you want to eat out, it's the safest way to eat an on protocol dinner, since it's basically a vegetable and meat walk through. You just have to watch the quantities, oils and sauces.

Well, today my big problem was I had to keep pulling my pants up and adjusting my belt. The type of problem I like! Also someone at work asked if I was losing weight. So, not only does the first WI of 12lb loss say it's working, others are noticing.

I had a challenge today. I met some friends at a sports bar to watch the Seahawk's game. I had a protein packet before entering, then ordered a Caesar, and told them to hold the croutons and parmesan cheese, and had them bring me a side of steamed broccoli which I added to the salad. I also ordered the low cal creamy cucumber dressing and drank soda water with lime in it. I think I stayed on protocol, just didn't know what was going on with the dressings. Did someone say, it was best to stay away from carbonated soda water? If so, why? Just curious.

I'm only 1-1/2 weeks into this. Earlier in the week, I had experienced a bit of scatter brain. I would be doing something, get distracted do something else, then go back to doing what I was before. A loss of focus and concentration. A little light headed. My coach told me it was detoxing, and told me to add an extra potassium. I only had to do that for a few days. I really haven't had those symptoms the latter part of the week. I'm also surprised that I don't have the hunger. I don't know what my calorie intake is because I choose to not count anything, but I know it's low, so happily surprised.

PepperGal, since the BBQ talk and I had just purchased some at Walmart, yes, WF BBQ sauce there! I did that instead. It was soooo good! I take about a 2 ft long piece of tinfoil or longer, fold it in half, in half again, roll the sides in about 3 times on both sides. (it should look like an envelope with an opening to put your chicken in) add BBQ sauce (or whatever dressing) then fold down opening on 2 sides and leave an opening to vent. (hope that made sence) should have taken a picture of it.
Bake 350 for 40 minutes or till it's cooked. Super moist that you think it isn't done yet, but I checked the temp. We did this all the time in the summer on the BBQ, but its too cold out. I will do this again very soon!

Yes it is right by Boston's. I couldn't remember the name of it before but I was at Central Market getting shiritake noodles (haven't tried those before, read about them on this board) and asked about it. They carry the WF salad dressing individual serving packets - you may want to get some of those, there is a WF caesar and many other flavors. If that low cal creamy cucumber dressing wasn't 0/0/0 it's not on the protocol. I picked up some dressing packets to have with me when I'm out, plus I have a travel salt shaker now so I don't have to use the yucky table salt.

Congrats on the loose pants by the way, that's gotta feel good! :carrot:

I could tell my body was responding to what I was putting in it. Sometimes I see a post where someone is considering eating the bedtime snack earlier in the day. There is a very good reason we eat the bedtime snack at bedtime. In fact, there is a reason for every facet of this diet. At this point of my journey it is very tempting to mess up, as it may be for some of you. I know there are several reasons for this and they all are understandable, but that doesn't make it right for me. I have to live with 'me' and 'me' says continue as planned. Sometimes people do what they want to do and then spend a lot of time justifing their actions. I think that is a waste of time. I'm not saying anyone on this forum is doing that. It would be very easy for me to do that at this point, even though that is not my nature. Again, I have to make a mental decision to stay on the path or stray. I understand the reason for phasing off of the diet. Sometimes I wonder exactly how I am going to do on phase 4. I am going to need some help. Phase 1,2 and 3 are printed on paper for me, phase 4 is life in the big world of food. I know the help is out there. It is nice to know that we don't have to stay ignorant about anything. Just think there was a time that I did not know how to shed the fat I had put on my body.
The weather in the deep south is fixing to change. I live in north Alabama and tomorrow snow and ice is suppose to move in. If it is as bad as they are predicating travel will be almost impossible and power lines can break due to the ice. A 1993 ice storm left us with frozen pipes and no power for a week. We will stay in, hope we keep our power. Stay safe during these winter days. Judy

Congratulations - 1 pound to goal.

My oh my....can I say with pride that this is the first year since I can't remember when that I didn't put on between 10-30 lbs from Nov to Jan? It has been a scary time, with all the celebrations...and sweets...everywhere but I still have just shy of 70 lbs. removed from my frame since June 4, 2010 I not only look like a different person, I AM a different person. I can look in the full length mirror and say "you really look good" and not even have one spot that displeases me. Ideal Protein is a wonderful plan that actually does remove the fat......and none of the dangers associated with liposuction!!!! Way to Go...Good Luck and Good Planning to all who are still Newbies...you made the best decision of your life when you chose Ideal Protein. I repeat daily to myself, When You Fail To Plan, You Plan To Fail...it's as easy as that.

Congrats!!! You should be proud of yourself, what an accomplishment. Thank you also for reassuring us newbies that this protocol really works.

Good Sunday Morning to all.

First time in 9 days (on the plan this long) that I was so hungry I ate some extra protein. All the other days the hunger was manageable. At least I didn't reach for some off plan stuff!!

How are all the other newbie's doing?

Thank you everyone for you insight into this protocol. I have been reading alot of the past threads and past daily chats and am learning so much about this program, not to get discourage, follow the guideline set out and the fat will come off.

I did the same occassionally either more ounces of meat or another packet and it never affected my progress, nor did I consider it a cheat. I know everyone is different. I agree that it's better something off plan.

At goal and some more

I had my official WI #12 yesterday and I just met my goal and even lost an additional pound for a total of 3. I already started Phase 2 and although I sometimes feel a bit full I'm feeling great and there are no cravings. I was having a hard time with this for three weeks. I'm confident know that I can reach to phases 3 and 4 with comfort. Heck I've done the most challenging phase already!!

Welcome all new IP followers. Don't understimate your capability of accomplishing your goals. This program is a bit hard in the beginning but keep in mind that it is not forever. There will be a time when you could enjoy your favorite meals with moderation. This program will gradually teach you and train your brain for that. All you have to do is have faith, trust the plan and most importantly believe in yourselves. Your body will take care of the rest.

Have a wonderful Sunday!!!

Ana

a sunday morning funny

My four year old keeps pushing candy on me! This morning he said, "Just try it! Just one! You'll like it!" LOL! He's like living with a miniature peer-pressuring candy-pusher. He's got ALL the goods- mm's, reese's, and gummies OH MY! Anyway, thank heaven for IP. On any other diet i would have grabbed that candy super fast and scarfed it all ;) He's actually a very healthy little eater and is even enjoying the brussels sprouts, spinach, and brocolli we've been having for dinner. He's still got a drawer full of Christmas treats, though. And he REALLY wants to share. Does anyone else have a little candy tempter at their house???

I'm svelting! 01-09-2011 10:35 AM

jupiter A little more "on protocol" food is a great response to hunger on IP and a plan that will serve you well in maintaining your IP body transformation!! Congratulations.

It's pretty simple. If you want "iced chai latte," you just have to do some of it in advance ...
- make a decaf chai tea, (chill if you want iced),
- warm the Vanilla Ready-to-Drink shake, (use chilled of course for iced)
- mix two liquids together.

You'll have to play with the proportions to find the taste you'll like best.

Deb, Can you, ummm, secretly cull his inventory? I have friends who've done this with their kids' Hallowe'een, Christmas, and Easter candies. Of course it only works with those who aren't innate quartermaster generals naturally inclined to notice every unauthorized stock depletion. ;)
