Hello, I'm on my third day. Couldn't stand the taste of the fake sweetener so exchanged all my packets for non-sweetened. Very little variety now, but a few months of this won't kill me, and I always have my one self-made meal for variety.
Feel sluggish on my third day, but have done low-carb before so know that 'this too shall pass'. This site has given me good tips and info, I look forward to watching everyone's progress. |
I browse this awesome sight and occasionally post when time permits so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 55 years old, married for 27 years, twin daughters who are 24 and a 21 year old son and work full-time. Grew up not having to worry about weight but after having kids and the aging process and quitting smoking (yeah!) the weight started creeping on. I would try calories in and calories out, eating heathy most of the time and working out but it was soooo slow that it was hard to stick with it and a weekend of indulging would set me back for weeks. I started IP 1/1/11 weighing in at 214 lbs. It took a while to adjust and feel good. Let alone get used to eating and enjoying salads and vegetables in mass quantities and consuming large amounts of water! After experimenting with tips on vegies and salad dressings and other tips from this sight I can honestly say I love this eating plan. The first week I kept saying to myself how can anyone eat this much salad and vegetables. Now I look forward to my salads etc. I usually do an assembly line salad making 4 or 5 salads at a time. Then I can just grab one for work and head out the door. After being on strict protocal for 7 weeks I went on a "planned cheat" due to a almost 3 week vacation in AZ and Mexico. I enjoyed my vacation but the cheat set me back at least 5 weeks to get rid of what I had gained and my body adjusting back to burning fat. I probably would have been very close to my goal had I not had the cheat. Now I am OP until my goal is reached. My absolute favorite IP food is the vanilla pudding with cooked rhubarb sweetended with splenda on top. I make my own salad dressings with WF Italian in a pinch. Thank you everyone for your advice and tips!! This forum is sooooo helpful!

New girl on the bloc
Hi, I don't know if I'm doing this right but atleast I'm trying.:)
I just started the IP program this morning. I already feel abit dizzy:wave::wave: Anayway, my goal it to loose 45 pounds and I will be visiting this blog often to help me through my journey. Bonjour to all from Montreal! Julia |
Salut Julia, je suis aussi de la région de Montreal (Rive-Nord)
Hi everyone, i decided to introduce myself, i read a lot even if i'm not writing much, I come here to cheer up myself by reading your experiences. So I started 3 weeks ago (WI #3 tomorrow) I'm not on IP but on the same kind of diet, the products i use are protidiet. That is basically the same thing than IP but less expensive (around 12-15$ a box). I'm 32 and hoping to lose a lot of weight so I'm gonna still around a bit. Stefany |
Hello all! I'm Emily, 22, and am going in for my 3rd weigh in on Tuesday! I'm a senior in college and all of the late night foods and dozens of restaurants have been catching up with me for the past 4 years. After my mother lost over 80lbs, (she jokes she finally lost her baby weight) I decided to give it a try. I travel and go out a lot, so it's been tough but so far, so good. While I don't have TOO much to lose, I need to change the lifestyle of how I eat. Also looking forward to fitting into some of my old shirts. While I HATE veggies, being able to eat more meat is excellent after having lived with 2 vegetarians the past 8 months!

Hi Everyone!
Thought I would go ahead and introduce myself officially as well...This is my 6th day on the program and after overcoming those diet pepsi and gum cravings I'm so ready to stick with it until the end! I was very overweight growing up and it wasn't until I left for university that I tried the Atkins diet and lost 40 some pounds. I went on to lose another 40 pounds over the past 10 years just through eating healthy and watching my carbs. I maintained it until this past year when 25 pounds came creeping back very fast. I knew the boxes of cereal and jars of peanut butter that I was eating each evening weren't good, but for some reason I just didn't care. I had lost the motivation to care about what I was doing to myself. When my clothes weren't fitting me and the scale kept rising I knew I needed to do something to give myself a swift kick in the butt! And here I am! I am leaving for a trip to the Maritimes in mid June, so I have 7 weeks to hopefully get close to my goal... Thanks to everyone on this board for the fabulous information and motivation ;) Trina |
Hello, hello.
I am a new IP'er. Started April 1, 2011. I have lost 28 pounds so far and have LOTS more to go. But I have made my first two mini goals, so that's good. Hope to meet others that can understand and share my challenges and successes. |
Great job

Hey there! I started IP on April 27th weighing in at 388, I want to lose 150lbs. Congrats on the mini goals being met that is a big achievement! I am Lisa, 45, in Gulfport Mississippi. I have 2 boys 19 and 23 both in college along with myself. I graduate on July 17th and hope to have a good amount of weight off. I am not putting a number because I don't know how my body will do. I have my first WI on Wednesday so we will see then. Good Luck! |
I wanted to officially introduce myself too!
My name is Sher, 41 years old, kids at home are 2 1/2, 8 1/2 and 17 1/2. I also have a 21yo daughter. I am married, work full time and have a 9yo step daughter who is with us every other weekend. I recently gained 10 pounds taking an antidepressant and went off it after 4 weeks. Told the DR that would happen. Anyway, tried WW - nothing; tried eating better - nothing; then found this. I am doing alternative products: EAS Shakes, PP Bars when needed (usually exercise days at Curves), and have ordered sample packs from DietDirect, New Lifestyle Diet and Lindora. To help me out, I make up a bunch of veggies (spinach, mushrooms, peppers, onions) in a skillet with olive oil, drain, add seasonings and some teriaki sauce (small amount) and keep in fridge. Every morning I toss some lettuce in a container for lunch and some veggies. I am finishing up some ground turkey and bean chili verde and ground turkey chili in my freezer, but I don't eat much of that for lunch. Dinner is usually chicken or one of those items at home. Been on this for a week - my WI today was -6.4 pounds. Plan to stay on until July 4th~ my bday. I will take my first measurements next Monday and post. Glad to meet everyone. This is an awesome board. |
Day 1, feeling optimistic
Hi Everyone,
This is my first day on the program and so far so good! It is great to see so many success stories! For me, having a place to go when I feel weak and want to eat something sweet or salty is awesome! Nice to meet everyone! |
Hi Everyone! I posted a couple times this morning, so I figured I should come introduce myself! I am having my first meeting with my coach/clinic on Friday and am planning to start the program on Monday. With a soccer party for my son Saturday night and then Mother's Day on Sunday, I figured it would be easier if I wasn't trying to start something new. I'll try not to go crazy though.
I am 37 years old. I have a 4.5 year old son and 2 year old b/g twins. Now that we are done having kids, I have found the desire to truly commit to weight loss and fitness. Before I always had in my head that I was just going to get pregnant again so why really try. I have always maintained my current weight with fairly little effort, but my current weight is not where I want to be. I need to lose 30-40 pounds to get to my ideal weight and I believe this program is going to be what I need to get me there! My hope is IP will get me off the fast food/junk/soda habit once and for all! I have some bad habits to break! Anyway! HI and I can't wait to get to know everyone and read about all your successes! This site if very overwhelming! I am trying to read through to find some tips for starting, but there are just pages and pages of posts. With two jobs, three kids, and a husband, I don't know how I'll find the time to read it all! |
I have been on IP for 11 weeks now and my coach suggested this site. Well here I am. 11 Week weigh in will be tomorrow and I am down 52 lbs. I am super strict and I avoid the restricted foods. My goal is to shed 150 lbs to get down to 175#. Yes that means I started over 325. I will be turning 40 and needed a change. LF

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. I heard about Ideal Protein from my sister-in-law. Her parents are currently on it.
A little bit of background on me. I got married in 2007. I was a litte overweight at that time. I lost 40lbs prior to my wedding by counting calories. I was able to maintain that weight loss until 2009. My husband and I hadn't thought about having a family, but I found out I was pregnant in Jan 2009, we lost the pregnancy in Feb. We decided that we were, indeed, ready for a family, but in order to give ourselves time to heal emotionally and physically, we waited six months. I fell pregnant right away in August 2009. We lost that pregnancy October. I ate my feelings. I was upset and I hated myself for letting this happen. I am in a better place emotionally now and I KNOW it's not my fault, but grief makes it hard to think rationally sometimes. I gained 60lbs. we, not for lack of trying, have not fallen pregnant since. I have decided to take a postive move and take a year for me. I want to get down to a healthy weight so, God willing, I can be a healthy mom when the time comes. I am not actively trying to get pregnant at this point. I started IP with alternate products on April 29. The first three days are total torture, but I feel great now that I am beyond that. I am so happy I found this forum. You guys seem so genuine and great. I can't wait to get to know you all better! |
Great job

New to Forum, confused!!!
Hey everyone! I'm totally new here and to this kind of website in general! So bear with me please if I post in the wrong place or just plain don't get it right! I started IDP on April 9, 2011 I have lost 16 lbs! I had a baby boy on March 4, so the first 14lbs was from the baby. But now I'm super excited to see the results from this with my pre baby weight (165).
I'm so glad I found this website!! The support and posts are fabulous, I was getting a little discouraged but found so much inspiration here! So a little about me... My name is Kenette, I'm 37 and live in Western Washington (state) I have a 13 year old son and a 2 month old son! I'am a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines, but have been off for over a year, and may or may not go back when my maternity leave is up! When I started Southwest Airlines in 2000 I weighed about 130 as the years went by eating crummy airport and hotel food, also discovered I like wine....I gained and gained! I got married in 2006 and weighed about 145 and again kept gaining and gaining. We were trying to have a baby and were having some problems, so I vowed to lose some weight and just when I got pregnant I learned about IDP !! I went to a consultation 2 weeks before I was due and started 5 weeks after the baby!!! So here I am! Once again please forgive me if I'm not posting correctly or in the right places..I'm new to this kind of website! I look forward to reading and learning here!! Thanks for all the inspiration! |
