Chicken Noodle Soup
Last night I prepared the chicken noodle soup in a small bowl then sautéed a celery stalk, 3 mushrooms, 1/2 head of broccoli with grape seed oil. I added 1/2 chicken bullion while sautéing. Added a cup of water and the rest of the bouillon.
After a high boil I added the LP soup mix. Very yummy ! |
cheddar snacks
I baked them with a sprinkle of Tabasco on them--going to try other things too. I really liked them better after I baked them.

Has anyone used a noodle maker for veggies? I saw it on tv and don't remember the name of it.

http://www.amazon.com/Premium-Vegeta...zJub036ZRTG_tt The spiralizer works very well - this is a sale deal with extras now - I only got the spiralizer back in July. Nice way to replace pasta and stay OP! I have a Ninja Pulse machine that I use to shred cauliflower or zuke into rice sized pieces. IMO, easier than shredding with a flat surface shredder. |

What makes cakes and muffins fluffy is the proteins in the flour. Packets contain a completely different kind of protein that doesn't behave the same way as regular flour proteins do - so the texture is not going to be the same. Unfortunately, any time you make a bread-like product with a packet it's not going to be the same as the real thing....but if you're really craving something different sometimes "close enough" has to do :) |

The other thing I have found is that if you add some water to the muffin dough/batter -- enough to make it a closer to pancake batter, you can bake it a wafflemaker. Once again - let it cook through for at least 20 minutes. Finally, whether as puffy muffins with a rather custard like texture, or whether a waffle with some crispiness hot off the waffle iron, they are wonderful vehicles for Walden Farms sugar free pancake syrup! I find that I like them very much! |

SALTED CARAMEL CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKES Recipe by Janeva Eickhoff (from FB IP Support Group) Ingredients: 1 IP chocolate chip pancake mix ¼ tsp. baking powder pinch of salt 2 T. Walden Farms caramel syrup 2 T. liquid egg whites 1 T. water Directions: 1. In a small mixing bowl, combine chocolate chip pancake mix (dry), baking powder and pinch of salt. Mix to make sure baking powder and salt are distributed well. 2. Add remaining wet ingredients, stir just until mixed. Let rest 1-2 minutes to activate baking powder. 3. Spray a frying pan with cooking spray and heat on medium. Pour batter into frying pan to make 2 pancakes and lightly spread batter out into circles to get 2 decent sized pancakes. 4. Cook until edges start to look dry or underside is golden brown. This will take about 2 minutes on medium heat. Flip and cook other side about 30 seconds. 5. Serve with a warmed syrup combination of Walden Farms chocolate and caramel syrup. SERVINGS: 1 unrestricted TIP: Omit the salt if you’re looking for a regular Caramel Chocolate Chip Pancake. __________________ |
chocolately chip pancake mix/pizookie
This is an easy Ideal Protein way to have a guilty pleasure!
I don't know if y'all are familiar with a pizookie but, it's a deep dish gooey cookie, made famous by BJ's Brewery they are so yummy and one of the things I miss most while being on this diet! All you need is... 1 IP Chocolately chip pancake mix 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional) 1 packet of splenda/stevia (optional) 2-3 tablespoons of milk (it should be less than the oz that you can use for coffee in the morning) mix all the ingredients up in a bowl (or mug) and you should get close to a doughy like mix. Put bowl in the microwave for 30-45 seconds and TA-DA!! A pizookie!(well as close as we can get lol!) |
Wow - thanks so much for all these great recipes for the IP packets. I don't like doing the liquid meals. With all the water to drink, it felt like I was drowning - ha! I've tried several of the simple, 1 IP portion ideas and love them. I make zucchini muffins with the Apple oatmeal - yum, and made a zucchini banana bread this morning. I've been craving chocolate treats, so plan to try the pizookie and the chocolate mug recipes. These are really helping me!
