Nitenic and I thought it would be a good idea to have 2 threads for the 20 by Hallowe'en challenge, one to post the weights and one for the congrats etc. That way we won't fill up the weight thread as quickly. Thanks:hug:

This is a great idea... here's the message we got from Ruthxxx in the 20 lbs by Labor Day challenge in August:

In future, challenge threads with frequent updates should be done as single posts per participant. The folks will use the edit feature to post updates within their original post. See This example. This is a sticky in South Beach.

Sorry about the 500 post limit but anything longer inhibits system performance particularly for folks still on dial-up.

It was too late for us though. However, we do follow this in the Our Daily Food Journal thread.

wuc1013 09-07-2010 06:43 AM

I have edited my post with my weight this morning. Technically the only post on that thread should be the ones with our weight....correct?
Hope I did it correct.
Have a great week!!

Enter a post in this thread, include your starting weight.

How to find it in the future, scan the main forum page , scroll down and look for the thread called "20 lbs Halloween Challenge."

Journeysend 09-07-2010 05:05 PM

I'm svelting Thank you for your info post about editing, I don't know how to do what you did:o:o Appreciate any help:hug:;)

Marionm, congrats on the loss! The challenge officially started 9/5 and week one weights will be recorded the week of Sept. 12. Would you like for me to use your Sept. 1 or Sept. 8 weight as your starting number? I think it makes more sense to use Sept. 8 for this week and Sept. 15 for next week but it's up to you. I just realized that you may have done this so that you can end before Oct. 31 instead of after. :o Either way, please confirm. Thanks!

Hi Meandmax, great job on the 5 lb loss! Since you have two weights for this week, that puts you at one more week than we are having in the challenge. Would you prefer that I use your Sept. 6 or Sept. 8 weight? The challenge officially started Sept. 6 but it's up to you. We won't record week one weights until next week. Thanks!

Let's use the September 1st one since 8 weeks will be October 27th and that will be my last weigh in before Halloween. I apologize for being a little off timing but my weigh ins are Wednesday and even though I'll occasionally weight at home I'd like to stick with one scale's numbers.

Thanks for checking and for all your work!

Sounds like a plan! No problem on the timing, just wanted to make sure I understood it correctly. :D

Question:

I don't weigh in officially until Thursdays. Can I wait until then to change my weight?

OnMyWayForGood 09-13-2010 08:49 PM

I posted my updated "week 1" weight in the weight thread on Saturday, but it hasn't been added to the spreadsheet. Is that something I'm supposed to do, or does someone maintain the numbers for us?

thanks! :)

Let's keep things in proportion here. That's my third biggest lose in 12 weeks. Sigh.

Oh, and, I posted my weight on the 12th.

We'll take care of it for you! It's updated now. I don't know about Journeysend, but I took the weekend off from updating. ;) Plus there's so many people I find it easier to wait until there are several to update. :dizzy:

struggling

I just posted my weekly weight. I have been struggling the past two weeks with small cheats and not being in ketosis. I hope I am back on track and had a good two days this weekend. Just need to get my body back in the routine and out of the craving mode. That is why I love ketosis....all those cravings go away!
Hoping for a good week. At least I am down one pound from the start.

Happy IP week!!

paygirl 09-20-2010 07:10 AM

Thanks I'm Svelting. I love seeing the dancing veggies!!!!

Mimi??? No. :p Just think of the calories burned in having to type out all of those letters in my screen name...

Yes, my weight loss journey is nearing an end. Yippee!!!! I'm finding myself thinking often of maintenance and transitioning into the next phases. I'm thinking of starting phase II near the end of October. Right now though, I know I'm still not "there" in regards to where I want to be size wise. Not sure of what "there" feels like as I haven't been this weight in I don't know how long. College probably. Before gaining enough weight for an entire person, I would float between 142 - 150 and was comfortable at that weight. I don't want to be "comfortable." I want to be happy with my weight and proud of the way I look and feel! So.... I'll be sticking to Phase I for a few more weeks and then phasing off. I'll have a better idea where I'm at by mid-October. With the holidays approaching, I want to be prepared and think phasing off properly and then doing a phase I boot camp in January might be a possible scenario.

Don't really know... for now though I'm just glad with my progress and love how my body feels.

Well, I got off track a couple of days. I need to re-focus myself and follow the plan. I know it works and I feel so much better. I am starting back on plan today! I am down 7 lbs and need to lose 13 more by Halloween. We all can do this! Stay focused and just keep trying!

Thanks. A lot. I've been trying all of the suggestions you all made, but one at a time; and will report back. The one that's most interesting, though, is that I went down to 159.4 the day after eating a bar, but the fat % shot up. Tried a bar for the second day, yesterday, and fat and weight went up.

Tminus80 09-27-2010 12:36 AM

Just updated my second week. My official WI day is Thursday. Last week TOM came for a visit so I was kind of worried...but I was still down 2.8lbs. :D

PS -I maybe one of the few, but my PMS, especially the mood swings part have nearly disappeared. Thankfully I am also very regular so if I had not tracked when TOM was to arrive this last time, I would have been surprised. There were no warning signs. My husband (who is also on IP, Phase 2) can't believe it either. Before, I would get really emotional the week or two before and now there is hardly any change in my mood.

Congratulations to everyone! You're all doing so well on this challenge.
I was just curious if there's anyway a newbie like me can join in since I don't have a signature yet, plus I've only been on IP for a week? My personal goal is to be down 20 lbs by Halloween too. If I can't join in officially, I'll just follow along on my own.
