An nsv and odds and ends.

Three years ago my contractor brought me a young banana tree and, what's more important, helped me plant it.

What a wimp! you're thinking.

Well, not really. If your lawn consisted of 3/4" of top soil on top of lava rock . . . think pneumatic drill instead of shovel.

So now, ta da, I have 22 young bananas blissfully greening on my 7' tree. My new goal is to lose enough weight that I'll be able to eat one when they're ripe. Keep posted.

Would the person who posted the great list of what abbreviations like NSV, DH, etc. mean please put it on the Tips for Newbies??

I liked my legs this weekend. It was the first time in decades I looked at my calves and thought "not bad!"

I've been on IP since April, and have dropped a lot of weight. Yesterday, I ran into a co-worker I hadn't seen since mid-April and the first words out of her mouth were, "You've lost a ton of weight!"

Well, not quite a "ton"... ;)

I'm so happy

I really really happy these days. I can't remember ever in my adult life feeling this good for this long. My best guess about the cause is either removing grains and sugars from my diet, or the 3000 IU of Vitamin D3 I'm taking.

In fact I don't really know why. Truthfully, I don't care! :p

I really like the graphic; but the message is sublime.

Recently had a medical appointment and I wasn't embarrassed, disgusted or ashamed of my weight/body size.

Scored free tickets to a concert at the Fair at the last minute - I couldn't find anyone who was free to go and I refused to miss 3 Dog Night so I took myself (I was pretty good company too :D. Great show and as I sat there I could easily cross my legs, people exiting the row could get by without trouble, I fit the chair - it was great. After the concert I wandered around and wasn't even tempered by the food. (appalled at how many food places there were) My "free" concert tickets ended up costing me parking, fair entrance fee and a beautiful dragonfly necklace and some earrings and a pampered chef chopper, but I figured it was good to reward myself with jewelry rather than food - and the chopper will be nice to use on all the vegies.

returned 3 size 12 dresses from a year ago to nordstrom (love their return policy) and bought 3 bras size 32 DD :) I was a 36 D. NO my breasts didn't grow but I had no idea bra sizing is so confusing, apparently mammary glands size D with 36 are NOT equal to D cup size 32...who knew. All and all came out of the store $400 ahead :) now I can buy a new dishwasher...YIPPY

So I cleaned out my closet today, which was a combination of getting rid of some clothes that look absolutely ridiculous on me now (was I really that big??), and trying on some that I haven't attempted in years. It was a fantastic victory to donate all of my "custom" shirts made by Omar the Tent-maker! :D And to think that just a few months ago I was on my way to popping the buttons off those suckers!

Better yet, I suggested to my wife this morning that I weigh less now than when our first child was born 12 years ago. She confirmed it later today when she found a photo of me from back then. I'm definitely thinner now!

:D

Ugh, I wish I had fit in the 32DD! That would have made things a bit easier. Congrats on coming out ahead. I am selling a sports bra and another unopened bra on ebay. Gotta make up some extra cash for new stuff!

I love the NSV's that keep coming. Traveled on a plane for the first time since loosing weight. I could buckle the seat belt without an extenstion and I had belt left over. The tray table fit - it didn't bump into my belly and no one ran into me going up and down the isles. I was a pleasure to fly and no selfconsiousness.
