Nsv???..

Not sure whether or not to call this a non-scale victory, but for sure it's a non-scale observation... riding 5 hours, each way, in the car from Texas to Oklahoma City last week was really hard on my tail bone!.. not as much padding back there as there used to be!.. oh, well, the sacrifices we have to make!!!..

hugs

I think it is! I drove back and forth to Seattle a few weeks ago and noticed the same thing. How do skinny people do long road trips? My rear was KILLING me when we were almost home. :carrot:

A few positive things for the thread: I can feel my hip bones, especially when I lay on my back. Before, you couldn't even tell I had hip bones when I was laying down.

My backbone is so boney I bruised it by leaning back on a bench. No fat to pad it!

Congratulations! I finally felt my waist this week, the first time in a long time.

Great gams!

Great positives you all!

I like my thighs now. Especially in profile, there's a nice curvy muscle look front and back!

Thinking of everyone here had me have my lettuce tonight instead of another packet. I really wasn't hungry. :yay: Yay you folks! :yay: Yay me! :yay:

and ... bump!

An nsv and odds and ends.

Three years ago my contractor brought me a young banana tree and, what's more important, helped me plant it.

What a wimp! you're thinking.

Well, not really. If your lawn consisted of 3/4" of top soil on top of lava rock . . . think pneumatic drill instead of shovel.

So now, ta da, I have 22 young bananas blissfully greening on my 7' tree. My new goal is to lose enough weight that I'll be able to eat one when they're ripe. Keep posted.

Would the person who posted the great list of what abbreviations like NSV, DH, etc. mean please put it on the Tips for Newbies??

I liked my legs this weekend. It was the first time in decades I looked at my calves and thought "not bad!"

salesgod 08-24-2010 10:49 AM

I've been on IP since April, and have dropped a lot of weight. Yesterday, I ran into a co-worker I hadn't seen since mid-April and the first words out of her mouth were, "You've lost a ton of weight!"

Well, not quite a "ton"... ;)

Kristiv88 08-25-2010 09:59 PM

Who Wudda Thunk?!?

I had my 3 week weigh in tonight and I am SO EXCITED! As of today, I have lost 18 pounds and 9 1/4" inches. OH MY GOODNESS!!! Who wudda thunk??

I'm so happy

I really really happy these days. I can't remember ever in my adult life feeling this good for this long. My best guess about the cause is either removing grains and sugars from my diet, or the 3000 IU of Vitamin D3 I'm taking.

In fact I don't really know why. Truthfully, I don't care! :p

I really like the graphic; but the message is sublime.

Recently had a medical appointment and I wasn't embarrassed, disgusted or ashamed of my weight/body size.

NSV (Non Scale Victory) for me.......I am wearing some jeans that are actually a junior size. Today is a very good day!!! :cheer2:

Scored free tickets to a concert at the Fair at the last minute - I couldn't find anyone who was free to go and I refused to miss 3 Dog Night so I took myself (I was pretty good company too :D. Great show and as I sat there I could easily cross my legs, people exiting the row could get by without trouble, I fit the chair - it was great. After the concert I wandered around and wasn't even tempered by the food. (appalled at how many food places there were) My "free" concert tickets ended up costing me parking, fair entrance fee and a beautiful dragonfly necklace and some earrings and a pampered chef chopper, but I figured it was good to reward myself with jewelry rather than food - and the chopper will be nice to use on all the vegies.

returned 3 size 12 dresses from a year ago to nordstrom (love their return policy) and bought 3 bras size 32 DD :) I was a 36 D. NO my breasts didn't grow but I had no idea bra sizing is so confusing, apparently mammary glands size D with 36 are NOT equal to D cup size 32...who knew. All and all came out of the store $400 ahead :) now I can buy a new dishwasher...YIPPY

salesgod 08-28-2010 07:53 PM

So I cleaned out my closet today, which was a combination of getting rid of some clothes that look absolutely ridiculous on me now (was I really that big??), and trying on some that I haven't attempted in years. It was a fantastic victory to donate all of my "custom" shirts made by Omar the Tent-maker! :D And to think that just a few months ago I was on my way to popping the buttons off those suckers!

Better yet, I suggested to my wife this morning that I weigh less now than when our first child was born 12 years ago. She confirmed it later today when she found a photo of me from back then. I'm definitely thinner now!

:D

Ugh, I wish I had fit in the 32DD! That would have made things a bit easier. Congrats on coming out ahead. I am selling a sports bra and another unopened bra on ebay. Gotta make up some extra cash for new stuff!

I love the NSV's that keep coming. Traveled on a plane for the first time since loosing weight. I could buckle the seat belt without an extenstion and I had belt left over. The tray table fit - it didn't bump into my belly and no one ran into me going up and down the isles. I was a pleasure to fly and no selfconsiousness.

As NSVs go, this is a great one.

According to my scale, I have lost 5 lbs in my first week....which, wasn't all that hard.....this thread gives me hope and excites me to STAY on track! I read all of this positivity and it encourages me! I am so excited to say what you all are saying (jealous, yes) but I am a competitive person....so WATCH OUT! I'm gonna get skinny (really mean healthy, but skinny just the same!). Keep your positive notes coming....I'll live vicariously!

I had a great day .. mostly "with the program" and work went really well. We solved a couple of sticky communications/project organization issues. I had a nice walk at lunch during one of the sunny breaks to get some veggies to munch on. The pack had baby carrots in it. I don't know how many I had before I realized I had gone rogue! Packed 'em up and offered them to colleagues.

I'm bringing this thread back up, 'cause I have something way cool to share!.. I'm going on a fossil hunting expedition tomorrow morning with a group of friends & decided to take along a fanny pack instead of my purse... well, I got out the fanny pack that I usually wear for stuff like that, & put it on to adjust the waist strap... I knew it'd be too big now, since I hadn't worn it in several months, but I wasn't prepared for just how big!.. I measured the difference in where it was set (it was slid out as far as it'd go) & what it needed to be today & the surprise was SIX INCHES!!!.. now, I think I'll just leave it like it is to remember how far I've come & take a different pack tomorrow...

I love IP!!!..

hugs

Aunt Sheshie, You're always so special. While others are repudiating droopy, you embrace it. :D

teehee... it was more than droopy, it fell off completely... i.e., my hips are smaller than my waist used to be!.. :dancer:

I just got back from trying on clothes, where I had to ask the salesperson to go get me 6's instead of the 8's I'd brought back. Then I had to ask her to grab me um, a SMALL sweater. Small. Small. Guess who's wearing a small? ME! I got home and put it on right away!

I went to the mall today with my husband who has gone from a 40 to a 36 to get him some new t-shirts... I sent him to the dressing room with a regular L and an XL to try on. He has historically always worn a 2XLT. Well, when he came out of the dressing room wearing the regular large, I couldn't see how well it fit because his jaw was hanging down so far! He is beside himself and I am so proud of him for sticking to it, despite being skeptical of it and just coming along for the ride to support me. (PS - I can't get myself to buy anything yet, although I am down 40 lbs, but I did try on a regular 16 jean and it fit :) - I was wearing a 20W/22.)

tle1103 09-19-2010 08:21 AM

We just moved and I decided to go through some clothes that have been in storage for at least 6 years. Can you believe that I can now wear most of them and some are too big!;) It felt like Christmas in September!
Have a blessed Sunday!

jordash 09-20-2010 11:46 PM

Had a massage today - first time I've been able to lay on my stomach and not need a pillow to make up for the tummy. (there is still lots of tummy - but most of it has gone south :( oh, well, at least it's going!) I'm actually discovering bone's I forgot I had. How fun!
