Ohh Carla I was thinking of Torchlaker today, she used to say "put on my big girl panties and get on with it" and by big girl she didnt mean size, I wonder how she is and Ogdog, they were my inspiration..... back when I was first starting....

i have to share this:

did my workout dvd just now and my 4 year old daughter insisted on doing it with me, so i let her. she did the entire 30 minute workout with me and never even broke a sweat. at the end she was begging me to play it again:)

i was suprprised at my own stamina during it. i wouldn't call it a high intensity workout but there were some tough moves in there and i just kept breathing and working through it. there are two additional workouts to add on but i figure i'll add those on once i'm used to workout #1.

i think i've made up my mind:)

how many days a week should i do this?? i don't want to overwork my muscles, but i really enjoyed it. i'm thinking 3-4 would be manageable, maybe even more!

alright :) so what does your mind say??

my trainer was saying min of 3 times a week at least for 30 mins cardio wise.

so glad you started this; try pilates ones too, they are a KILLER!

you are making yourself nuts by going back forth is #1. #2 something is up by gaining 3 pounds over night, todays weight was measured on your own digital scale, right?? go and try it out an old fashioned scale please. Digital ones suck badly. don't you find it interesting that its not one or 2 but always 3?. #3- yes I really advocate working out. because now I am not worried about the "diet" part as much because I am not consumed by what I ate (although I don't eat anything bad) and I am more focused on how much stronger I am getting. You know what, the control is in my hands now fully with working out. After I get to phase 4 if I ever have a "cheat" day, the next day or 2 I will be pounding hard in that gym and its going to be easier to do so because I started it now and have my routine set.

Aww, sweetie! No one is thinking your crazy. And you shouldn't feel guilty about phasing off.:hug:

Remember, when you sign up they say this is "your last diet". They don't say this is the diet you will be on forever. Also, they say this "has a beginning, middle and, an end." It is GOOD for you to reach a point where you are ready to go to the middle. You will one day have to end this. You can't be afraid to gain the weight back.

Just like when we begin the diet and are fearful about what if I don't lose, I think we reach a point where we have to begin the process to assure ourselves we won't gain it back. You will learn the rest of the tools in phase 3 and 4 but, look at all the successful result from the people here. Check out CW's profile pic.

i think i'm going to start with 3x per week and then build up once the workout gets too easy; add heavier weight, more sections of the workouts, more times per week or harder routines like pilates.

i haven't worked out in awhile and just want to take it slow at first-but with SOME heaving breathing and soreness;)

3x per week would be awesome... the other days still walk and such, so you still get some "cardio" but not necessarily the major push or weights. Also LOADS of water as it will hep you with detox and soreness!

Here we go, you will be seeing results in no time!

Back from weigh in #2, down 2.2 for a total of 9.8! So close to 10.....

But the inches seem to be melting off. A total of about 13 (waist, arms, legs, chest) altogether! I still really don't notice it in the clothes I have been wearing though.

Thank you all for your continued motivation! It is so great to have so many knowledgeable folks that have gone through the same experiences!

"Mary, I know this letter was for Novak but, I just wanted to say that it is so sweet and touching. You are a very special person. I am glad you are part of this group. :)"

Dear Carla,
Thanks. Your contributions of information, support and time are just incredible. You give so much of yourself (the way smaller you!) to everyone and we are all so grateful. Know how much you are loved!
Mary

Speaking of shoes.... I bought 6 pairs yesterday! (all on clearance, name brands!) I don't want to buy new clothes for school (I teach) that won't hopefully fit long, but shoes... that's something that should continue to fit without much change! So yeah, Kelsey, let's see that newest pair!

You're a kind and compassionate woman, Carla. It was CoastalCrafter's comment about cringing under their glances that made me angry on her behalf. I guess those glances could mean anything. I hope for everyone's sake they were not meanspirited. Thanks for giving us another and deeper perspective.
