WF Caramel Dip

Hi Gang,

Someone mentioned a ways back that you couldn't think of a good use for the caramel dip. I've tried it as a pancake spread, which is not too bad. But last night I put some in my tea--WOW! Yum, yum, yummmm!! I don't drink coffee, but I'm pretty sure it would be good in coffee too. It has a strong butterscotch flavour that works really well with tea. I like something sweet after dinner and this gave me huge sweet treat flavour, with the warmth and satisfaction that I get from a mug of tea. I could really get to like this for a 0 calorie, 0 carb dessert drink.

Does anyone know if there are WF stores? Is this something you can only buy online? I'd like to try before I buy. Anybody heard of trader joes?

:welcome: glad you are here seeking info for your success!

check out walden farms dot com; there is a store locator page. I have found a few products at different grocery stores, but I don't think there is a Walden Farms retail store as they have too limited a product selection. You can't sell enough ketchup, salad dressing and chocolate sauce to pay for a brick-and-mortar location. In my experience, if you are looking for salad dressing, the WF products are shelved in the salad dressing area.

None of my local stores allow me to try before I buy, but depending on your store, maybe they will allow you to return things you open, try and want to return.

The WF website has a reputation of having slow shipping. A number of other outlets online sell WF products (amazon, netrition, and carbsmart, among many others).

I have not seen any WF products at Trader Joe's. TJs sell their own stevia in packets (has maltodextrin in it, so I don't use it) but I don't know if they have any phase 1 IP legal foods other than veggies, meat and oils/spices (unless you are doing alternative foods - they may have a protein powder that is legal).

My wife and I cook up our veggies with Soy and Garlic, add cut up chicken and a tablespoon or two of Alfredo sauce.

We enjoy.
We also like the Walden Farm Italian and Russian Dressings.
The Blueberry or Maple sauce are very nice mixed in with the Vanilla Pudding.

I kind of enjoyed the caramel on the chocolate pancakes when I was really wanting a sweet fix. ---warning though, it is really sweet!

I am not sure if this has been tried and posted before, but I just made chicken with the WF bbq sauce....I mixed the sauce with dijion mustard and a tsp of Frank's Red Hot....it was very yummy....best tasting food I have had in 3 weeks.

This past weekend my wife and were trying to thinking of a fall/thanksgiving treat.

We combined Vanilla Pudding, Walden Farms Apple Butter and a touch of cinnamon. It very much had an Apple pie taste to it, although I think we may have over done it on the cinnamon.

You could probably also substitute or add nutmeg.

I tried the chipolte ranch dressing tonight and it was pretty good.

Found this thread while trying to figure out what to do with the caramel spread and pb I don't like... looks like I'm going to try a shake with them. If anyone has other suggestions than what's on here, please share! Even thinking of using the pb for a sauce - I vaguely remember having some dish with pb base at a thai restaurant. But will have to look up recipes!

I've had a few trial and errors with WF products so here's my list of likes/dislikes.
BBQ - love it! (thanks Linden for suggesting it a while back!!)
PB - makes me gag (but I haven't tried mixing it with anything yet)
Caramel Dip - overly sweet
Mayo - worked well mixed (like in egg salad)

Ranch - thick but love it (can thin it out with other dressings, oil, vinegar, whatever taste you're in the mood for)
Sweet Onion - like it, but only when hot veggies are added to the salad... changes the taste of the sweetness
Italian - palatable but just ok

Hope this helps someone, but remember everyone's taste are different so remember you may love something I don't or hate something I like.

I like the sweet onion the best. I am able to find the dressings in Food Lion or Super WalMart (usually run around $3.15).

I have yet to try any other products other than the dressings, so that will come in time.

Thank you for your input. I bought the barbecue sauce, ketchup, strawberry syrup and chocolate syrup today (i live about thirty minutes away from a store that sells WF so i went a little crazy). I tried all of those as soon as i got home, and so far they're pretty good. They'll definitely add a little excitement to the diet. I did buy the honey mustard dressing and really did not like it. I'm going to order the mayo on their website tonight (didn't have it at the store), i really miss chicken salad. What do you put the strawberry jam and maple syrup on???

I did the same thing...bought 1 of everything!! My fave at first was the bacon ranch. I now just use the Ceasar Dressing that I make from the IP recipes...it is delicious and not so sweet like the WF dressings. The peanut butter is not good by itself but mixed with the syrup, it is yummy with celery! I've heard that you can make a snoball with crushed ice and the strawberry syrup but I haven't tried that!

Yes, they're compatible. Most of the coach sell them with their products. They're compatible because they're 0 everything. Even if they're supposed to be zero, be careful because they're in fact not zero if you eat more than 1 tbsp that is suggested on the packet.

I really like :
the Thousand Island dressing
the ranch dressing
the strawberry jam
Maple syrup (taste like butterscotch)

Ok :
Honey Dijon dressing (but seriously, just mix some 0 cal dijon with white vinegar and olive oil... It'll be sooo much better !)
Mayo is ok also, although I only use it to cut in half my real low fat mayo if I need some)
Chocolate syrup

Disgusting :
Peannut butter

Hope this help :)

The peanut butter is yucky by itself but have you tried mixing it with the WF syrup? It's really good with celery!

jartiles 12-03-2010 04:56 PM

You're right, the peanut butter is not good by itself, but I mix it in with the vanilla RTD and it tastes like a peanut butter shake. I've also used it to make a thai style peanut sauce by adding ginger, garlic and soy sauce. It was delicious with stir fried vegetables and miracle noodles.

Just want to put my two cents in for the Sweet Onion Sald Dressing....Yum! Thought I liked Thousand Island and Coleslaw Dressings the best until I tasted it and now the Onion is #1. It is interesting how everybody's taste is so different. I remember reading that someone hated Apple Butter and I have to force myself from not eating the entire jar in one sitting. :)
