Thinking about IP have question

  • Hi
So Ive been reading through all your post and threads and I called a clinic in my area and have a meeting with them on Friday. My only concern is the $ cost of this program. I have two young children and we are a one income family so theres not too much extra money around. Can someone roughly tell me about how much this program cost? And is there any place to get the supplements for a good price or what tips do you use to keep $$ cost down? Thanks in advance.

I believe the cost of the program is about $85 per week for food and about $50 per month for vitamins.

Some clinics allow you to buy your own vitamins so that might bring down the cost if you want to go to a clinic

Some people follow the Ideal Protein protocol but use alternative products. You can find some of those product ideas at the top of the Ideal Protein Forum.
  • I too was concerned with the cost and I do use an alternate product to do this. (like Jordanna said, look in the alternative sticky, I think you did and I think I already replied to you.. )
I just wanted to tell you, I have been so happy with this plan. I have so much more energy to spend the time with my kids. We now play tennis, ride four wheelers, fish, etc. My point is, not only have I been loosing weight, my life has been more fullfilling. I love the time I have with my family and find I use it much more wisely than I did before. My daughters are learning healthy eating habits and my youngest who is a little chunky, cute anyway, has been asking questions about the food she eats. No, my kidos are not on a diet, but the food in our house has become healthier and they are learning that it was a good and important change for all of us. I can't even dream of a better reason to have started! Good luck!!
  • I am in Arizona. The clinic I go to allows us to by 7pkts per box at 27.00 each or individual packets at 4.00 each. The drinks are 4.50 each no matter how many you order. The vitamins are $50.00 a month.

I generally end up spending about 97.00 a week. I have been on the program for 6 months. I have gone from a size 20 to a 10 and have lost 70 pounds on the program. (89 pounds from when I started trying but the first pounds were just a low carb/limited cal diet.. not this.) I did lose 47 pounds in the first 10 weeks. It slowed down after that for me. If that gives you and idea of what to expect.

Your height and weight goals are very similar to CW (chaplains wifey) on our boards. Look up her posts and what she did. She lost about as much as you want to lose over 5 months. Exercised daily, and used alternate products in part ( I think that was what she said about the shakes).

This really works, I hope you can find a way to get work it in your budget.
