Default Tongue burning, gassy mouth, lousy feeling

Ok I don't know if this is ketosis or what. I am on Day 8 and this started about 3 days ago...

It feels like gas is emitting from my tongue. I also have a nasty taste in my mouth, kind of thick and metally tasting. I have also been light headed and run down feeling in my head. Kind of like my head is FULL and lots of pressure.

I added 16 oz of water today but it hasn't helped. Still tasting it and feeling yuck! Could I have gone too far into ketosis or is it ketoacidosis or something?

I may not be getting all of my oil/fat in everyday. I am taking 4 multivitamins per day. The potassium and the Cal mag daily.

I lost 4.4 lbs my first week so I don't want to stop but I don't like this feeling at all.

I don't know a thing about IPD so take this for what it's worth -

I have done Atkins before and I always know I'm in ketosis when my mouth has a metallic/coppery taste. It is the main reason I've never been able to hang with a really low carb diet. You can buy urine test kits at the pharmacy to see if you're in ketosis.

Why are you taking so many multi vitamins? Does your doctor know about this? I get VERY ill when I take a multi or prenatal, four would leave me puking my guts out. YOU CAN OVER DO IT ON VITAMINS, especially if you're only meant to take one a day.

I did this when I was pregnant as well. Docs said they were just as good as prenatal or adult multivitamins.

According to a diet page (wiki related, it seems)...

Some ketosis symptoms include:

Tiredness or fatigue
Headache
Feeling thirsty all the time
Bad breath
Metallic taste in the mouth
Weakness
Dizziness
Nausea or stomach ache
Sleep problems
Cold hands and feet

Sounds like ketosis to me. I did Atkins too.. and i had all the symptoms you did too.. I would suggest maybe upping your veggies just a little.. which will help you feel better..

I just looked it up - each of those chewable vitamins has 3 carbs, all from sugar. So, you're getting an extra 12 carbs a day just from those vitamins. Why are you taking those and not the IP ones or another regular old multi?

They don't make me nauseated like the bigger adult vtamins do. But sounds like I need to chang e. that so it doesn't kick me out of ketosis.

I know I am short on my vegs and oils.

Thanks everyone

I have learned that I have to take my multi after my big meal....meaning, if I am eating my real protein for lunch, then that is when I need to take it. The iron in them makes me sick to my stomach. Always has, probably always will!
