You should totally get your license! Take a MSF class and ride your own! That's what I did and it is great! I haven't rode much this year because of the weather, and I need to get out more!

Probably more to his pride than anything. Bent the brake lever and the mirror - tho I couldn't see the mirror damage, scratched the muffler a little. We wonder if the dog ran by and knocked it over?? LOL

torchlaker 06-23-2010 12:14 AM

Oh geez...toomanycats...that is MY fear..the motorcycling tipping over and me bringing the bike, me and the driver down. I rode with my friends husband the other night and decided to use the peg. OK -- barely could get my leg over. HTH am I gonna get it over a GoldWing on Saturday? Maybe...I can use a bucket like motiv8edmama.....

Everyone asks me when I am gonna get my own bike....yeah, right! I am 63 yrs old....(I did ride a bit in my 20's)...my reflexes are slower....my balance is worse....and heck, I like to look at the scenery and NOT the road. Of course, how long are wives gonna let me ride with their husbands?

Diet seems to be going well. I kept very busy the 2 weeks i have been on it....as soon as I start to veg-out, I start craving food. I just stood in front of the meat and veggie counter today...and NOTHING looked good. I wish we could go by my scale...it shows I have lost 9#. Probably be like 1-1/2# on the drs. scale....

Oh well....they are putting my boat in the water Friday? Do you think I will master the docking this year? Last year, it was just a big, expensive sundeck. My brain is still not where it should be...even tho all the legal stuff is over. I NEED to get ride of all these files around me......

motiv8edmama 06-23-2010 01:02 AM

Torchlaker...63 is still young in my opinion. My coworker is 64 and last year she bought one of those big yamaha scooters, she has been riding back and forth to work and all over town. I think it is awesome!! I also think she is absolutely adorable and always run after her taking her picture. She's forever yelling at me, "cut it out!!) :)

Onward!

Aunt Sheshie: Love your positive attitude. You will definitely succeed! Would the sodium in the pickle count toward the daily salt requirement?

Deinekatze: I'm sure you had a wonderful time while away...I'm impressed there was only a 5 lb gain! Look forward to hearing about your continued progress.

she did approve of their puddings, tho.

So - I KNOW Lindora....I have been buying EAS shakes....and use an Atkins Advantage bar for my treat. I weigh in tomorrow, but it does look like I have lost about 4-5# this week (but we ALL know that first week is the "golden moment")....and going back to Red Hats again. Baby steps.)

Torchlaker: So glad you're back on the boards...although sorry to hear about the re-gain. I agree with the others that on Phase 1 you'll be back in the 150s very soon. I've been looking at Lindora products. Glad to know your doc approves of the puddings. I haven't placed an order until I figure out which ones have Aspartame. The Red Hats seems like it would be fun. I've seen them out in my community and they always seem to be having a great time.

Sarah30: Thanks for the update. Great job on the wt loss. No doubt that you'll reach your goal. I've also been using the EAS shakes. I really like the chocolate and strawberry. I love the price compared to IP:)

Hi everyone...
Checking in also......I have lost 7# of the 14# I gained....and got back into those size 10 skinny jeans again this week. Wore them on both motorcycle trips....got my leg over fine on the GoldWing. The guy was quite obnoxious, but I think I have finally set him straight. He must have thought I was one of those "lonely widows". We had a beautiful ride today. Michigan is SO beautiful....and we went by lakes I didn't even know existed. There were 150 bikes in this ride (for our little area, that is pretty awesome). Riding on his Goldwing was like sitting in a couch, compared to what I am used to......If we didn't have to wear these darn helmuts, I could have gone to sleep (then I could have ignored all his pickup lines....).

Motiv8edmama....I am starting to "think" a little about my own bike. My son is freaking out...He thinks with the fibromalygia (and how much I like to look at the scenery), that I would get into an accident. True, my reflexes are slower...balance seems worse. But after dealing with unwanted lines from this guy (thank goodness my friends were there)....I just think I would be better off driving myself.

I am finding the diet so boring again. I stand in front of the meat and veggie aisles....and nothing looks good. I did get my order from Diet Direct....not overly impressed. Thought Lindora was better. Doing the EAS shakes, and allowing myself a Atkins Advantage bar for my treat. Geez, I miss my orange juice again!! I have just been "on the go" so much that I can't seem to get in my water and exercise again. I really tire easily.

Torchlaker congrats on the loss so far - good job! :cp:

Keep having fun on the motorcycles - I would really like to get one of those new Spyder 3-wheelers. I assume I would feel safer and not worry about falling over. There are a couple of them in little ol' Casper and they look SWEET

:moped:

I am having severe trouble getting back on track.....Can't seem to wrap my ahead around committing again. I will be cleaning and de-cluttering today though so hopefully that will give me a nice space to try meditation. Happy Sunday to all!!

HI Sarah---

I started the EAS shakes this morning and I love the chocolate one. I mixed in some starbucks "via" instant coffee and ice and had a delicious mocha.

Do you have 3 shakes a day as an alternative plan?

Congrats on the continued terrific weightloss weeks!!! You are doing sooo well:sunny:

I would love to find the EAS strawberry shakes and the caramel coffee ones as well so I could add some variety to my RTD shakes. Not being a cook, I do not have a lot of the yummy syrups and spices I have read about on here. I looked on the internet and a pack of four is over seven dollars, then shipping. Not sure it is worth it when I can get 24 packs for 27 at Sams, of the chocolate fudge. Can any of you tell me where you are finding these other flavors?

I haven't tried the other eas flavors since I prefer pure protein, but I've seen vanilla and strawberry at my local grocery chain and Target, and sometimes even Walmart.

torchlaker 06-30-2010 09:44 PM

Hi guys: Weighin is tomorrow....I wish I could skip it cuz I know I didn't lose anything...but ya gotta take the bad with the good.

Motiv8edmama: I only find chocolate and vanilla EAS shakes up here....but I had bought a bunch of sugarfree DiVinci syrups when I first started IP to "liven" up my puddings. I just pour some of the flavorings into the plain shakes (raspberry is good....I think WalMart carries the Toriani raspberry sugarfree syrup). I bought all mine from Netrition.com (my shelf looks like a coffee house). $4.95 shipping and the bottles were as cheap as I could find them anywhere. Of course, I am at home and blend it up in the blender......

Tried the chocolate cake from both Lindora and Diet Direct....pretty good (yeah, I put fatfree ReddiWhip on it). The oatmeal from Diet Direct is fairly low in carbs (Lindoras was very high....doc nixed that one right away). It isn't quite as filling as IP....

Rest of the weekend looks pretty busy...which is so strange for me after doing nothing for over 2 years. Supposed to spend Friday out on a boat...weather looks great. We are riding tomorrow and Tuesday....my friend is letting me ride with her hubby (she drives her own)....What a sweetie (she REALLY is....).

Sarah...you are doing awesome. I will have to check my stats....I don't think I ever lost 8" in my waist.

Toomanycats: OK == what is a Spyder 3-wheeler???. I actually looked at trikes....thinking I wouldn't spill over on them....but I know the ones I looked at were hard to corner.....The ones I looked at were awfully expensive...even more than a regular bike.

mamaerinb 06-30-2010 09:55 PM

check out the Light Original Flatout Flatbreads, here's the nutritional content:
Calories:90
Fat 2.5(no saturated!!)
Carbs: 6 net(9 fiber, 1 Sugar alcohol)
Protein: 9 g(!!!!)

I used this to make an awesome pizza or wrap with 2 oz of chicken, 1 oz shredded mozzerella(skim) and 1 Tbsp of hot wing sauce. Total carbs: 6.5!

I don't plan on doing this everyday but once a week is good for me since i don't do the skim milk in my coffee, also didn't do any restricteds today.

YUMMMMMMMMM!

motiv8edmama 07-01-2010 01:39 AM

Thank you for the feedback on the shakes Nitenic and Torchlaker. Torchlaker, I think I am going to have to get myself some of those syrups after all. Raspberry and chocolate sounds fabulous!! NUMMY!!

Have fun on the rides over the weekend!

Hi, a Spyder is sort of a backward trike - but it has 2 wheels in front and one in back. Yes I found out they are WAY too expensive too. for fun you could go to the spyder web site ( www.spyder.com ) But my local dealer sent me quotes and I won't ever look again $18,000-23,000 is too rich for me!!!! That's more than I paid for my Camry and it seats 4!!! LOL
