Same here- I am also obsessive. I measure everything and make salad dressing that is only one serving because I know if it's in a big jar then I won't know exactly how much of the oil I am getting in that serving. Thank goodness for this forum and all the ideas we share! I measure my non-fat milk out with the smallest shot glass I have and pour it in my coffee. It also makes me chuckle since I never do real shots!
Welcome to all the new people! :welcome2: :wel3fc: Hang in there, it gets easier. You are all doing great! :cheer2: :cheer3: :broc: :cheer: :dust: My boyfriend just started this week-today is his fourth day. I forgot what a huge adjustment it is at the beginning. MuayThaiGoddess - love your name! And wow 5 pounds by DAY 3!?! That's great! Novak - you made me laugh! I must have missed the girl scout/IP packet incident at our clinic! Bwahaha! Who in their right mind would think that it's ok to hand out cookies (the enemy!) when we're all on IP? And it's funny that you intimidate the front desk workers. I only listen to what the chiropractor says and I just take them enthusiastic office workers, not medical professionals. They did say something nice last week when I went past my goal- they suggested that I might fit into size 6 pants. I've never ever been size 6 (not even in high school while doing gymnastics) so a 5 foot tall woman would suggest that to me. But it was a nice thought. Rachel13- don't stop posting! We're all here for you even if you slip up every once in a while. RedMonkey - welcome! I also live in NoVA. :D I'm glad it's raining today instead of snowing. :rain: Have a great day everyone! :luck2you: |
Got this in an email from RealAge.com:
"Protect Your Pancreas With This Bumpy Green" Make pancreatic cancer the scariest disease you never got by eating more of this bumpy green veggie: broccoli. Seems that flavonol-rich diets could reduce your risk of pancreatic cancer by up to 23 percent, according to a recent study. And broccoli's got heaps of the compound. Fill Up on Flavonols Flavonols are talented little substances found not only in broccoli but also in lots of other fruits and veggies, like apples, onions, and kale. And these compounds help fight cancer on many fronts. First, they ramp up your body's detox machinery, purging dangerous carcinogens from your system. Next, flavonols help prevent cancer cells from growing and dividing. And as if that weren't enough, flavonols encourage cancer cells to self-destruct, too. |
Happy Friday everone, its beautiful and sunny here in Ottawa and Im just about to take my dog out for a run along the canal.
I am so impressed with everyone's weigh ins and success this week. Great job everyone. Im almost done my 2nd week and Im a little bummed that after 5 days Im only showing a 2 pound loss. Maybe its because I just finished TOM yesterday or because I had a really big loss on my first week but I guess I just expected alot more. Hopefully by Monday it will show a bigger loss. Have a wonderful Friday everyone! KImAnn ***Week 1- lost 14 pounds, only 60 pounds to go until Im a smoking hot bride on Sept 18**** |
First Weigh in today, down 6lbs, YAY!!! :broc:As I'm doing IP at home, I weighed before work this morning, but running late, so no time to check my measurements, I'll see about that tonight and post the inches. This is a great motivation as we are having pizza at work today since in sales we hit a nice goal already for the month. No pizza for me, but they are getting salad too, so I'll take part in that, add my veggies I brought with me as the salad will probably lack, and have my soup, first time to try the leek soup today, with all the reviews, mostly bad, I'm curious, I loved the mushroom, wasn't crazy about the chicken (but I think I made that a little thick) If I keep going at this rate, or at least average 3lbs a week, I can partake in most of Easter dinner without feeling awful (big holiday with my family)

Babs...the chicken soup is my fav, but I like the leek soup for a change. Sometimes I just like something hot and that fits. Keep going and I know that pizza would be a challenge. One of my very favorite all time foods. I have to stay away. My friend who is on IP just likes to smell it. She says that satisfies her.......don't know if I could do that!!!

Thanks for the welcome! I'm leaving tonight for vacation - I hear its not raining in Charleston :D Plus I have a good action plan for vacation. We upgraded our hotel room to have a kitchen so we are going to cook most of our meals and I've already scoped out the restaurants so I know which ones I can eat at. BTW who is your coach? |

RedMonkey - re: your headache - make sure to eat your sea salt. all the water you're consuming throws out your electrolyte balance (you pee out all your salt) so you need to make sure to get your salt in. If you have a headache you can even put some salt in your water or just put some in your hand and lick it - gross but it's worth it when your headache goes away in about 20 minutes.

I survived the pizza though!!! filled up on salad and allowed myself a few tomatoes and raw onions that came with it. I've been staying away from them as they are veggies to have only once or twice a week according to the list I was given, this was a special treat, and only had a few pieces of each!!! |
