Goal: 80 lbs lost!
Last June I decided that I needed to lose weight. For the past 5 years, I just kept gaining (mostly due to my inactivity of being a stay at home mom). At my biggest, I weighed 233 lbs.! I hated shopping for clothes, I got winded easily, and I was disgusted with myself! My husband tried not to make me feel bad about my body image, but one night he finally said "You just keep getting bigger and bigger." He was right, and that's when I decided it was time for a change.
I lost the weight thanks to a combination of calorie counting with MyFitnessPal and walking. I'm not in peak physical condition, but I can easily bike or walk a few miles without becoming breathless. I can go out and jump on the trampoline with my kids without the worry of it busting. I can ride a bike with them without feeling like my lungs are going to explode. My circulation is better.
At the time last year I wore a size 16. Two days ago, I went and purchased a new pair of jeans in the same style and brand and had to buy a size 8. I never thought that I could do it, but once I got going it was actually easy. I just can't eat the amounts or foods that I used to and now I enjoy exercise. I went from 233 to 153 pounds in 8 months after several failed attempts over the years.
Now just to keep it off!!
