so i like it how u suggest smoothies for diet. which one do you guys prefer

The snag with smoothies is that it's basically a hit of sugar. You're not chewing your way through the veg and fruit, the cell walls have been broken, and it all hits your bloodstream at once. That's a lot of sugar in that smoothie, even though it's natutal. You need fibre with your fruit and veg. Another problem is that for some people, smoothies don't feel like a meal replacement, they feel like an extra. I find I'm still hungry afterwards, so they're not for me.

Here's an experiment you could try. Try eating the fruit and veg instead of blending them. Salads, stir-fries, that sort of thing. You probably won't be able to get through all of it, which is fine, you need to cut calories a bit anyway. You could still have your mega-fruit smoothie once a week, as more of a treat than an everyday affair.

Thanks Esofia. What should I cut from this that has too much sugar?

- Half big beetroot
- 1 apple
- 1 carrot
- fresh Ginger
- blackberries
- mixed frozen berries from costco
- Celery
- Spinach
- lemon
- matcha tea
- chia seeds
- flax seeds

All the fruit and veg have natural sugar in there, that's what I meant. Smoothies naturally are high in sugar, even when they're mostly veg. Could you try a salad or stir-fry or something instead? I think you're right to suspect the added daily smoothie as a cause of the weight gain, and it doesn't hurt to see how you do without it. You can try different things, it's not a lifetime commitment.

Green ones. Yet as Esofia said, you should be careful with calories, natural sugar in vegs still counts as a sugar. So it's not a replacement for a diet.
As for me I don’t just drink green smoothies to lose weight, I combine them with a whole foods diet and lifestyle.

2 cups spinach
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
2 stalks celery (chopped)
1 cup brewed green tea (cooled)
1 large grapefruit (peeled and seeded)
2 cups pineapple chunks (frozen)
1/2 large avocado

Place spinach, mint, celery, and green tea into blender for greens.
I believe lesser models won't handle leafy spinach (at least, that's what https://juicersblenders.org/ says).
Puree until smooth.
Add remaining ingredients.
Blend again.

I don't think there's anything in the smoothie that would cause weight gain.

Leversun 01-24-2020 05:35 AM

What other foods do you eat besides the smoothies?

Leversun 04-16-2020 11:09 PM

I never really got into the smoothie thing too much but I have been using Goji juice which is full of tons of vitamins and minerals that are good for the soul.
