Default Smoothies are better than juicing....for me

So I was doing some research and decided to give a smoothie detox a try. I can't believe I haven't tried this before

It seems like every time I try to do a juice cleanse I never get through it. I absolutely hate the way it makes me feel...super weak, headaches, nausea, etc. I know juicing works wonders for a lot of people, but for me smoothies are way better.

I've been going strong on smoothies for 3 days now and I still feel great. Maybe it's just a mental thing (not sure of the science behind it) but I feel fuller and not as energy drained. It could just be the thicker texture tricking my brain lol.

Juicing isn't for everyone, and if you're anything like my I would highly recommend giving smoothies a shot. You can still pack them with super healthy veggies and lose some pounds in the process.

Here is a recipe that I have been using:

1 red beet
1 handful of kale
1 tablespoon chia seeds (could substitute hemp or flax)
1 lemon (zested, but keep the white pith intact)
1/4 large cucumber
1/2 of an orange
1 cup almond or coconut milk
About 2 cups of filtered water (adjust to your liking)

Recipe credit

Has anyone had long term success with drinking smoothies? I'd be thrilled to hear them. And I'm always in need of some new recipes to try. So hit me with your best smoothie!

I'm just starting, but my favorite favorite thing right now is

1 cup of almond milk
28 gram raw organic cacao nibs
1 scoop chai latte Spiru-tein protein powder
28 grams raw organic goji berries
2 table spoons raw organic chia seeds
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
5-6 ice cubes
1 tsp ground cinnamon

536 calories and it tastes like ground up cookies!

I do both, smoothies in the morning instead of breakfast, juicing in the evening with my dinner. Love them both.

I'm about to start with a smoothie/shaker recipe to replace lunch each day. I don't like to eat that much and I think this will help me stop all of the snacking that I do.

I am going to be doing this for my shaker bottle:
Almond Milk
Chocolate ProFit
PB2

And this for my smoothie:
Almond Milk
Chocolate ProFit
PB2
Bananas

1/2 cup vanilla almond milk
1/2 medium banana (frozen or fresh)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

I agree smoothies are better than juicing. Not only do you get more nutrients, it is better to fill you up, and it is cheaper.

I made my first ever smoothie for today's lunch. I'm only just starting to try to lose weight so I hope I am doing it right.
I had 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries, 1 banana, 1/2 cup spinach, 1/2 cup of natural yoghurt and 1/2 cup skimmed milk. The recipe also had flaxseed meal but i can't seem to find any and may have to resort to online shopping for it but it is expensive...
That banana bread one sounds lovely, will have to try that soon.

I am loving smoothies atm but i'm just wondering how many you have a day? So far i am replacing breakfast with a smoothie and then having a salad for dinner and something healthy for lunch. For a snack i have a yoghurt or a cereal bar

This morning I had a huge green smoothie, infact i only had half and i feel so full.
1 cup water
1/2 cup chopped cucumber
1 cup chopped strawberries
1 banana
1 apple cored
2 cups of spinach
ice
it really was lovely
