Default Carb-cycling

Anyone here tried carb-cycling? I am basing my diet from Chris Powell's book and it really makes sense to me. After 4 days I have lost 4.6 pounds. I feel pretty good. I can tell some difference on the low carb days, but not bad...considering how bad I feel with my weight! Just curious what kind of experience others have had with this.

I have been looking into carb cycling also. I love Chris Powell and was going to pick up his book on it. How do you like carb cycling so far? Does it seem hard at all?

I don't believe the cycling has anything to do with it.

What I will say, however, is that low carb is generally conducive to weight loss which is what I tend to be as I eat a lot of protein. But on those odd days I do go carb crazy with bread, icecream, dessert and the works it makes very little difference to my weight as long as I return to low carb the following day.

I didn't intend to be low carb, I just ended up that way.

It's probably just an averages thing. Like everything with weight loss IMO.

Default Carb Cycling Advice/Experience Anyone?

I've been looking at carb cycling also. Just started back to low carb a couple of days ago because of what I read about carb cycling. I lost weight with regular low carb a couple of years ago, and I really followed it well for an entire year, and lost 68-ish pounds.

But…. then I had so many plateaus and after a year a started eating carbs again - and slowly but surely gained all the weight back. It's hard to stay at around 20 carbs or below all the time - except for a special once a month family meal, but I did it. I tried being less strict after I started eating carbs again, but that brought the weight back.

Soooo…. I'm thinking this could be a good answer since it makes sense that you need to regularly eat some carbs to avoid having your metabolism plummet. But what is the best way to do it. I get the minimum is a once a week cheat day. And if you work out more than I do at the moment (which is not at all - especially with this annoying cold), you can add moderate and high carb days each week.

What have people tried and what works?

Thanks for any advice or experience you are willing to share!
