Default Diet/Blood Pressure Question

I would like to know your thoughts on this.

I started eating right again 4 days ago. I have higher blood pressure not enough for pills but almost. My doctor told me lose weight and will see if it goes down before we decide on pills.

So I started 4 days ago at 392.8 and today 386.2 now I know from experience that is just water weight.

I usually eat the same thing daily as it is easier for me. Here is my first 3 days and this mornings food:

Day 1:

BF oatmeal, flax, berries, almonds, orange juice.

Snack:

Yogurt

Lunch:

huge salad, croutons, kraft dressing, seeds, nuts, chicken

Snack:

Smoothie

Supper:

tuna sandwich

Day 2

1 whole egg, 2 egg whites, peppers, mushrooms, onions, kidney beans, whole wheat english muffin toasted with peanut butter, orange juice

Snack:

Yogurt

Lunch:

Smoothie

Snack:

Smoothie

Supper:

tuna sandwich

Day 3

1 whole egg, 2 egg whites, peppers, mushrooms, onions, kidney beans, whole wheat english muffin toasted with peanut butter, orange juice

Snack:

Yogurt

Lunch:

Smoothie

Snack:

Smoothie

Supper:

meat, cheese, mustard sandwich

Today

BF

1 whole egg, 2 egg whites, whole wheat english muffin toasted with peanut butter, orange juice

I also drink 2.5 liters water.

Now before I started my blood pressure was 131/84 not bad but now today I feel all weird and my blood pressure is 162/93.

I would like to know if anyone here would know why. It is because my body is so toxic now releasing salt into my blood(I have read that happens)

Please any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have just read on 2 websites as well as on a forum that not eating enough will increase your blood pressure. Maybe this could be it as I just looked at my food and it looks extremely low in calories for a male my weight.

Link to forum

( http://www.healthboards.com/boards/h...e-your-bp.html) I am not promoting it I am not a member.

Are you having your blood pressure checked by the doctor?

If not, you are probably getting a bad reading doing it yourself.

For example, are you taking your blood pressure fully rested after sitting for 5 minutes?

Are you repeating the test to check the measurement?

And, critically, are you using an extra large cuff?

It is just so easy to get a sky high BP reading if you do it yourself. When I was on medication I would get crazy numbers if I flinched or used a standard cuff (up in the 200s!!!!).

I doubt your diet is having an adverse impact. It looks like a great start to shift those pounds quickly.

And I also doubt your initial loss is water weight. Big guys lose weight fast if they get their diet right. I know I did.

I get it checked by my daughter who is in 3 year of nursing program. I know when it is up I can feel it in my head so I get her to check it. Thanks

Default More Water?

You are not hydrated enough, 2.5 liters is not enough water for you weight. You should be drinking at least half your body weight in ounces. For example, if I weigh 140 lbs, then I should be drinking 70 ounces of water a day.

There are a lot of different things that can effect your blood pressure. A couple days of checking is not enough to see a pattern. Check your blood pressure a couple times a day and record the numbers and times, then check to see if there is a pattern, say over a week's time. Taking a walk can help lower your blood pressure, too.
